The Mississippi Delta is NOT located at the mouth of the Mississippi River. The Delta stretches from Memphis, TN to Vicksburg, MS. The Delta is located about 300 miles north of the mouth of the river which is located at New Orleans, LA. And has an elevation of around 130 feet above sea-level. There are not any mangrove swamps here.... more
