The visitor center is a destination in itself. A beautifully restored southern plantation style home. Great displays and a video about the impact of Katrina. Very nice gift shop where we purchased a wooden sculpture by the same artist who volunteered his time to create beautiful sculptures from the remains of trees damaged during Katrina. His works are located all... More

We had stayed three nights in Long Beach but due to a boat race had to change hotels for our last night in the area. I had actually stopped in to get information on a walking tour but mentioned to the man helping me we were unsure where we would be staying tonight, he immediately had another staff member start... Not only do they have tons of local information, they are also a mini museum. They also have a nice gift shop with many local hand crafted items, and FREE coffee.

You can't miss stopping here if you are in Biloxi! We spent more time than we normally would have in a visitors center because there is so much information! Biloxi is steeped in rich history, good and bad, and we learned so much abou the area just from this visit.

You can find all of this on the web before.. However they did have some models of the wooden carvings by the artist (can't remember name) that are along the beach road. Interesting info on those

This is a must see, but if you go call ahead to see when they show the Katrina movie. It was only shown twice a day and it really put the storm in perspective. Everyone knows about the damage in New Orleans but did you know over 6,000 buildings were destroyed in Biloxi. There are other short videos and some... More

Take a few minutes and spend some time at the visitors center - you will learn a great deal of history about the area. It is a beautiful facility with a touch of nice southern charm.

I would have never guessed that I would review a Visitor's Center, but for visitors to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, this is a MUST-DO-stop! It not only is located in a beautiful building - worth seeing in itself, but its beautiful balcony has an unprecedented view of the Gulf coast and the Biloxi lighthouse!
