`We did the tour, thinking of seeing lots of shrimp in the big net. Very disappointing! Just a few tiny creatures in the net. It was obviously the wrong season. Early March.

For $17 apiece ($15 plus tax), we had a fantastic 70 minute tour of the inner harbor of the Gulf. Our tour guide, Mike, was great! He was a phenomenal teacher for all the reasons that the other reviewers have already stated! On our particular day he was incredibly responsive – answering the barrage of questions from the boatload of... More

It was a bit disappointing that we barely caught anything in the net. It was a shrimping boat and we did not even catch one shrimp. I understand it is the luck of the trip, but it is kind of hard to understand and visualize a whole areas economy being based on shrimp and the process it moves through when... More

very informative on how shrimp are caught.. Explained their views on how Hurricane Katrina actually helped the economy in the area... It was cold and the first day they were open and we only caught a baby squid and a Turkett.. was well worth the $15 per person.. Also informed us on how the near by island was destroyed and... More

Even on a cold windy day this trip was well worth the $15.00 charge. A dozen hardy folks braved this morning's 10:30 departure in the windowed downstairs. The guys explained the equipment, put out the net and told us what we were likely to encounter while our lady captain motored slowly out of the harbor. We learned many interesting facts... More

From the moment we boarded the boat, we were made to feel very welcome and at-ease. We were given a very interesting commentary as we made our way out into the bay. Then, when the nets were raised, the guys talked us through the catch, which included a stingray, puffer-fish and squid! On the way back, the captain gave us... More

The trip is only 70 minutes and it is a fun way to take a boat ride and to learn about shrimping. We only had five on our Monday trip so was delighted when the captain decided to go. Steve and Captain Mike were super nice and made suggestions for great restaurants - which we tried and loved. Great way... More

Really enjoyed this informative trip aboard a shrimp boat. Lots of facts presented, both verbal and visual. Interesting to see what was collected in the nets which were dragged along during our ride. Thanks to Steve and the Captain for a great and interesting time.

I went out on a Tuesday at 1030am, there was only 5 of us. We didn't go out very far just enough to fill the net with diff fish. The deck hand Steve was good, I wish we could have went out longer.
