Had a wonderful time and a great trip to Ship Island. The staff is friendly and amazing. The hour boat ride awesome. Saw dolphins on the way there and on the way back. The gift shop has some super affordable stuff. They certainly do not take advantage of anyone. Sodas are a buck, snack bar on the island affordable. You... More

Our family had so much fun. The beach was clean and the snack bar had a great assortment of lunch foods, including chicken wraps. The boat ride to and from was epic. We saw tons of dolphins. We will go back.

For this beach trip, we decided to travel light - we brought only beach toys, towels, fishing stuff, and lotion, opting to buy/rent everything else. Here's how it went: We decided not to bring any food at all. We got $2 plastic cups that could be refilled for $1 on the boat OR at the snack shop on the island.... More

This was my first trip to Ship Island with the family and we had an amazing time. There are umbrella and chairs to rent, a snack bar and restrooms out on the island. You can bring your own stuff out on the island like we did. The boat ride is a hour to the island and maybe half mile walk... More

A trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast is a waste of time if you don't take the excursion to Ship Island. I grew up in Mississippi but I had not been to the island in 30 years. I truly appreciated how the Park Service had developed the area of the salt water marsh access to the south side of the... More

This was our second visit, we love the boat ride out. We saw dolphins numerous times. The beach is very pretty and the waves were great to use the body boards on. Later my son fished and caught one. Great for families, remember to bring sunblock and renting the chairs and umbrella was well worth it.

Ship was clean and crew was very friendly and polite. We saw dolphins, swam with rays, and saw crabs, sea stars, jumping fish, and migratory birds. Rent the umbrella and chairs,,,definitely worth it. Visiting the Massachusetts Fort was interesting. Cleaner water than Biloxi beach areas.

Not impressed. Half your day is spent on a boat going mach zero. Once you get to the island, you have to walk 1/2 a mile just to get to your paid-for umbrella and seating. The beaches you just left from the mainland are just as nice. We took the morning boat ride in and by the time we left... More

The kids loved every part of this trip. Here's my advice. ... Take sunscreen and either pay the $25 for chairs and umbrella or bring your own. ... Bring a (SMALL) cooler. The walk from the dock to the beach is almost half a mile and after pulling a loaded cooler all that way, I made sure we finished all... More
