We grew up in Biloxi. Any trip we took to Ship Island was with the excursion trips or Marine Biology out of Biloxi High. My brother is now a Captain for Deep Sea Fishing trips and we took our family (a group of 25, age range from 6 to 68) to Ship Island. The island is much cleaner than I... More

This was a wonderful trip. The only downer was that we could not tour the fort because it was flooded form the heavy rains the night before. The Island was very beautiful and we found many great shells.

Well worth the trip. But the fort was the only thing worthwhile. The snack bar has bowling alley type food, reasonably priced. But if you want to sit on a beach chair, that is where they make $$$$ ......They charge a bunch of dollars just to sit in a chair. They probably make ten thousand bucks a day on renting... More

The beach on this island is so much better than the beach in Biloxi. There's plenty to explore and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We also saw a ton of dolphins on the boat ride to and from the island, as well as most of the time we were on the beach.

The sand is pure white and the consistency of baking flour. You can sit in the sand and let the waves break over you. You can rent chairs and umbrellas, or buy a flotation device. The entire place is relaxing. I love Ship Island!

Took our 10 year old son on our most recent visit. Had a great day as he played on the beach or I. The water with his friends. I suggest you bring a couple of low maintenance kids with you, to keep it fun. A group outing of scouts or school mates is even better so that they can play... More

Book a boat ride to this protected island and enjoy some local history and a great beach experience. Plan an extended stay, as boats do not run very frequently. Think day at the beach! Refreshments are limited on the island, so plan to take along what you may need. However, make sure to check allowances and restrictions well in advance.... More

First viewed Ship Island when there were no Gambling Casino's on Biloxi's coastline. There was a small gambling ship 400 - 500 ft. ( with a hot tub ) that would have to go past State waters before allowing gambling to commence. If you were not a gambler though, you went for the ride and the Hot Tub on the... More

Quiet, non-commercial, beautiful beach. Nice, clean facilities, restrooms, changing areas. Should bring own drinks, coolers, snacks.
