First of all the ship's crew were fun and very helpful. The trip to the island was just under an hour and really relaxing. You can rent chairs and an umbrella at the ticket office or on the island. There is a snack bar on board (cash only) offering usual snacks and beverages. A sneak shop is also located on... More

Nice boat ride out, once you get there you rent the chairs if you want. Be aware of the little white nats, they will get all over you. Cary bug spray. The old fort is worth exploring to. I thought the water would have been clear on the south side, but it was murky. Not Florida blue.

A great history lesson for very little money and a sun tan to boot. The ferry ride is about 45 minutes and shaded and air-conditioned if you want it so. Otherwise you can sit on the upper deck and watch the dolphins surf up close and personal on the bow wave of the ferry. You can catch the ferry in... More

If you are coming to the MS Gulf Coast taking the boat out to Ship Island is quite fun. Go with friends, enjoy the sand and ocean. Have always had fun each time I have gone.

Ship Island ferry is the only public access to the island (10 miles appx. offshore), where you can enjoy beaches with somewhat of a surf. There are beach chair and umbrella rentals, a snack bar. Plus you can bring your own coolers for your family. Once you get there, you have access to a pre-Civil war fort which is maintained... More

A 35 to 40 minute boat ride and you arrive at a beautiful beach. The islands are the only decent beaches along the Mississippi Coast - the beaches on the shoreline are the nation's filthiest with dirty, muddy water that even the locals won't use. Ship Island is just beautiful.

Take the boat from Gulfport harbor. Short 35 minuet ride in large boat. Lands on big pier and you walk on the boardwalk to beach. Run by National Park Service. Has beach chairs. Shower. Snack bar. You are on the west end of the west side of Ship Island. Boats run about every 2 hours. Good service. Great economical trip.... More

I went with my Dad when I was a teenager and loved it. I was excited to share it with my family. It was just as much fun as I remembered! I don't think a trip to the Biloxi area would be complete without visiting Ship Island!

I live only an hour and a half away and had no idea that this place even existed! For only $25 you can rent 2 beach chairs and 1 umbrella, and believe me, it'll save your back if you spend the money instead of bringing your own. The walk from the ship to the beach is at least 1/2 of... More
