Hidden in the town of Winona is the marine Museum. Not a big museum but worth the time: a small study of Seurat's; a Kandinsky; Emanuel Leutze's copy of "Washington Crossing the Delaware"; an entire room dedicated to the Hudson River school. Definetly worth the side trip to see. You can then drive highwa 61's route to see scenery that... More

For any city this museum would be a gem. A great collection on permanent display and rotating special events. If you enjoy art, you must visit this location.

Every time we come to Winona, we book time to go hear. We've never been disappointed. There regular collection is amazing. Great marine art, nice impressionist collection and always interesting feature exhibits. Currently, an interesting Winslow Homer Collection from the years he was lead illustrator for Harpers. So much history! Opening this week, a National Geographic collection. Very affordable outing.

Who would think a small city would have such a fabulous art museum? Thanks to generous private donors, this art collection is overwhelming. Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet, to name just a few. The Impressionism alone rivals larger city museums. This is a must see for anyone who appreciates art.

We enjoyed the featured art engravings of Homer Winslow. But what really delighted me was the variety of world renowned artists represented in the permanent collection. The museum is smaller and not so crowed, so you can get up close and spend a moment alone with each piece without being elbowed by hundreds of other tourist like at many major... More

The Marine Art Museum is something you would never believe to be located in rural Minnesota. The area is beautiful and home to some of the most picturesque scenery and natural resources in the U.S. However, unlike many rural centers of industry who often lack the physical investment in the arts you see in bigger cities Winona has at least... This museum was suggested by our closest friends who had visited previously. I went with low expectations as I have been to some great "big city" museums. Don't fall for the stereotype, this small town has world class art. Within one of the spacious galleries I was able to view Renoir, Van Gogh, Mattise, Piccaso and Mondrian. All up close... More

was overwhelmed with the quality of the art, beautiful building. odd location, but it is near the river and its namesake. several small galleries of paintings. lovely wooden craft pieces in the lobby, beautiful stained glass. take a couple of hours to take in, well worth it for art lovers.

We stumbled upon this attraction and were blown away. We have visited art museums all over the world and this one holds its own. It is small, only six rooms, but this makes it easier to view the entire collection without going into overload. Their explanatory signs are brief yet able to hit the important points of each piece.
