My husband and I had no idea that Winona had this great little museum. The woodblock print exhibit was interesting and beautiful, and the permanent collection was impressive for a museum of this size. This was a wonderful way to spend half a day while in Winona.

This much more than a museum about marine art - it has a great permanent art collection and had a wonderful wood block artist show when we visited. The exterior is also wonderful.

What a surprise. This is a wonderful museum, the likes of which one rarely finds in a small town. If you're in Winona, don't miss it.

I really had no idea there was such a treasure hiding in the little town of Winona, Minnesota. I could not believe the incredible collection of Impressionist Paintings. I also was able to pick up a print of a painting commissioned for this museum that I love by Maarten Platje. It is called "Ariel and Taiping Racing Along the White... More

I never imagined finding such a treasure trove of artwork in this small town! The kids really enjoyed playing a bingo game the museum provided, they went through the exhibits searching for specific items in the paintings! Highly recommend!

Wasn't sure what to expect upon arriving, but this place was well worth the time. They have a great assortment of marine artwork, and I was shocked too see some works by Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, O'Keefe, etc. - was not expecting that in a "small town" art museum. Even if you aren't a huge fan of art, you will... More

The museum is small and well focused. But, this is a very good place to spend an hour. The Smithsonian traveling exhibit on X-rayed fish was most interesting.

What is NOT to like about this art museum? Maritime paintings and paintings from many masters are superior and the museum is just big enough so that when you leave you feel you’ve gotten your fill. I took my senior father to this museum and he didn’t feel rushed or overwhelmed. What a wonderful place for school aged children to... More

Fantastic art from all over the world housed in a beautiful climate controlled modern building by the Mississippi River. You won't see are like this outside of a major city.

A wonderful collection of art. Enjoyed browsing and studying the works. A gem and surprise! Maritime painting and a collection of Impressionist that was truly fascinating. Easy to find just the right size to enjoy during a weekend visit. Could easily go beck and view again.
