Shockingly beautiful space/facility. Perfectly-sized museum, can do it all in 1-2 hrs. Definitely do the classroom experience thing in which a volunteer (the woman we had was extremely knowledgable and interesting) brings an eagle in and feeds it. Ours had rabbit for lunch.

We spent about 3 hours here and that allowed us to see all of the exhibits as well as see the free eagle show, which lasted about an hour. The exhibits are top-notch with lots of hands-on opportunities that kept the adults and our 13 y.o. teenaged daughter thoroughly engaged. There are telescopes to see Eagles in the treetops by... This was my second visit. This time it was with my 87 year old mother and 16 year old granddaughter. Both really enjoyed the visit. Make sure you stay for the presentation because that is the best part of the visit. The staff person answered every single question from the little kids to the young at heart. The room was... More

Only reason 4 not 5 was the tour wasn't guaranteed with the kayaking we learned- thought it was- stuff happens... so instead heard a presentation that may have been just as good an individual eagle expert an rescued eagles up close, answering a lot of questions well...Also a puzzle constructor thing bought from the store had wrong pieces, discovered in... We went, but we're short on time. Got close to the eagles, took some amazing pictures. They had a presentation that sounded amazing and you get to watch them feed one of the eagles, but we didn't stick around for the show.

Excellent facility. The presentation is classroom style. An enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteer docent engaged everyone in the room masterfully and taught us a ton about raptors, eagles in particular - how they live and what they do. An animal handler brought cam in with (in our case) a fully grown Golden Eagle - actually a larger eagle than the Golden... More

This is a wonderful place. The eagles are unforgettable. Do make sure you stay for the educational lecture/ class. It was very interesting for all age groups, with lots of interesting stories and facts about eagles.

I really enjoyed my trip out here. I paired it with a few other places. I would recommend this for children as well. I wrote more here http://girlygeekchic.typepad.com/girlygeekchic/2015/08/national-eagle-center.html if you'd like to read it and see more pictures. The highlight really is seeing the ones on the river. So don't forget to look up!
