The local restaurant in Castelnuovo dell'Abate recommended we visit this winery, but we were a group of seven and unlike Napa Valley, many of the local wineries in the Montalcino commune require reservations, so we were a little hesitant. That is until we met Nicoletta, she welcomed us with a friendly smile, and was able to provide us with a... More

We did not have time for the tour, but we stopped by for a casual wine tasting. Everyone was wonderful, friendly and the tasting was outstanding. The views are breathtaking and we had a lovely morning. Highly recommend!!

Great people and very nice wine. Very pretty setting. The charcuterie plates were quite nice as well. The place was a little hard to find.

Short notes on my visit -- my internet is limited/sketchy today. But this winery blew me away! First, plan or allow two hours in your visit so you do not have to feel rushed -- the history, vineyards, winery and ALL wines are too good to race through if you are "on a schedule". Second, the entire staff is very... More

We were graciously greeted by our hostess as we arrived late in the morning of a sparkling day, in a picturesque countryside below the ancient town of Montecino. She took us and five others on a special tour of the winery and explained the process of making excellent Brunello and its... More

We visited Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona winery during the first week of May, 2015. The day could not have been more perfect. Bright sunshine on the verdant Tuscan hillsides and hardly a cloud in the sky. The winery is very beautiful and well done. The stone buildings fit in well with the Tuscany landscape, and the trees, flowers, grapes, and olive... More

Lovely setting for this vineyard south of Montelcino. Very nice grounds and tasting venue with friendly young staff. Excellent value tasting and tour for 15 euros. Very welcoming and friendly, lack of haughty atmosphere that can plague similar spots.
