We stopped at this light house on our fall color trip. It is a nice visit, but not as interesting as Split Rock. We did walk out on the "sea" wall and watched a ship being loaded with ore. Two Harbors was a super busy place the weekend we were there.

Visit the Two Harbors Lighthouse, but then walk down to the water and along the concrete breakwater all the way to the end. This allows for a much better view of the large ships loading iron ore at the docks. If you are very lucky, one of the ships will be leaving or entering the harbor. The breakwater has a... More

This was near the starting place of the North shore inline marathon. Gorgeous peaceful area. Nice walking trail along the lake and woods. Or climb on the rocks.

The views are beautiful and the pier is right there to walk out on. The only thing the light house is good for is a picture in front of it. You can do the "tour" for I think a $1, but all it is is walking up a flight of stairs & walking down. There was nothin to it. So... More

The lighthouse is easy to get to from Two Harbors. They have a couple of museums and you can get discounted tickets.

What a fun overnite! Greeted at check in with cookies and coffee. Each bedroom was different and lovely. We had the Harbor room but after seeing each I would choose the Lakeview (for the view of course) We were able to see the ore ship, Edwin Gott in for a fill up. Furnishings authentic to period (Built in 1892), lots... More

We didn't have a whole lot of time to spend here - we just wanted to check out the lighthouse from the outside (weren't interested in going inside -- we've seen tons of lighthouses and they're all pretty much the same after a while). Naturally, we wanted to get a few pics of it, but to our disappointment, there is... More

We enjoyed walking on the breakwater on a clear sunny day and saw a large ore ship loading at the harbor. The Lighthouse gift shop has a great variety of items and a friendly clerk. We took photos of the lighthouse, but did not take a tour.

When we arrived, one ship was finished with loading, and one was just arriving at the harbor. It was a foggy morning and we enjoyed walking to the lighthouse in the harbor and watching the boats trudge by. My son loved the seagulls. We crawled around the stone shoreline afterwards. Very peaceful, just the sound of the ships. The little... More

This is a very interesting lighthouse. The only disappointing thing is that you cannot go all the way up to look out the windows or walk on the gallery because there is a revolving light that is going all the time, day and night. The buildings are beautifully restored and the grounds are very neat. There is no house tour... More
