The town of Two Harbors is named for the two harbors, Agate Bay and Burlington. Two Harbors is Located 20 miles northeast of Duluth, MN, on MN HWY 61 on the shores of Lake Superior. Twice I have visited the loading docks at Agate Bay at dawn before sunrise to watch the large lakers being loaded with Iron ore pellets.... More

Pretty red color but grounds were closed. We walked down around the breakwater but we were not too impressed with the property. The Iron Ore loading docks across the harbor were huge and we would have loved to see a ship receiving its cargo. Nice visit but not worth a return to that area.

Didn't cost anything if you got coupon from library, but there is no tour guide. It is self guided. Located right by breakwall so plan time to walk out on that as well.

One of the best parts of this visit were the deer roaming free on the grounds. Loved the view and the history here. Make it a stop when you are in town. There is a bed and breakfast there too which looked romantic.

The Two Harbors Light is the oldest operating lighthouse in the US state of Minnesota. Overlooking Lake Superior's Agate Bay, the lighthouse is located in Two Harbors, Minnesota. The construction of the Lighthouse began in 1891. We were traveling through this area and had this lighthouse on the list to stop. I'm glad we did. It was a cold blustery... More

We enjoyed our stay. We chose the Skiff House because Marilyn doesn't do well with stairs. Jacuzzi was great. Each breakfast was very good. Cheryl and Rose added to the enjoyment with their knowledge of local history.

While it's not spectacular it's still worth a stop, if you are taking the north shore drive this should be on your list of stops. It's a lighthouse, not an amusement park so the kids weren't quite as impressed with it as some others might be.

While not a picturesque as its better-known neighbor at Split Rock, this is worth a visit. Take to easy walk on the breakwall for a little exercise during a long road trip.
