Best place to go during a storm!

The waves crashing on the rocks literally blow you away! dress warm and give this area a try, it is my favorite (I thought) secret place.

First of all, l need to correct the review of kcsu: there are NO stairs at Stoney Point. They must have been at Tettegouche or Split Rock lighthouse. There are no steps, stairs or trails here. but it does take a little deft footwork to hop from rock to rock. This is one of the favorite photographer places on the... More

Great place to watch the waves. On a good day you can watch brave souls surf these waves. Plenty of space to walk and hike around the rocks.

You must see Stoney Point on a day with high waves. Spectacuar!. Once, I even saw surfers. When they came, one guy said, "I have never been so cold in my life." And, they had wetsuits on. Who would surf on the North Shore of Superior??? Brrrrr....

Enjoyed the view when we arrived but there was lots of stairs. Got nice photos. Not many people when we were there early morning on week day.

The waves on Stoney Point are always higher than any other spot on Minnesota's North Shore of Lake Superior. Well worth the visit when the waves are crashing!

There is no better place to get up close and personal with the mood of the big lake! There are always photographers there, but there is room for everyone.

love stoping here when driving up to "Two Harbors". Love to stop and take pictures to look at the waves and ice. Great little scenic rest area coming from the cities to take a breath and relax a little.

Huge waves and terrific winds will whip your hair into your eyes and make them sting along with the little bits of water thrown from the Great Lake. Great for photos and nature shots and even some rock climbing along the shore. But if you want a campfire and some relaxation along that shoreline, better pick a calmer day or... More

Stopped at the Dairy Queen to get a treat and help the local economy. While eating there, watched traffic going down the road & over the hill. Couldn't let that go by without checking to see what was over that hill so many were heading to or from. So we went on a hunt and found the rest of Two... More
