Lots of beautiful scenery. Nice walking trails. Many great photo ops! Went for the fall leaves and it did not disappoint.

Gooseberry Falls was always one of my favorite parks as a kid and it seems to just keep getting more beautiful. There are a nice variety of hikes--my new favorite is an easy hike back to the former site of the CCC bivouac area. I'm not sure the CCC boys could have imagined how much their hard work would come... More

There are many falls along Minnesota's North Shore. Gooseberry is one of the best ones for getting close to it and experience the sights and sounds of a waterfall. Some others are more picturesque, but they are more of a challenge to travel to or approach. Gooseberry is fairly short 40 mile Northeasterly drive from Duluth. There is no charge... More

This was my first visit to the North Shore. So glad I stopped at Gooseberry Falls. Tons of hiking from super short and easy to longer and quieter. It is easy to reach the Upper Falls in just minutes. I recommend hiking up the west side of the river to Fifth Falls and then back down the east side on... More

Went this Fall and the colors were gorgeous. Lots of paths and hiking and room for kids and adults to walk around the falls. Super fun afternoon. Would go again.

We Minnesotans are so incredibly lucky to have so many perfectly groomed hiking trails. This hike is a perfect addition to a day at Gooseberry Falls. The main falls are what most people experience, and it is fun to walk around on the rocks and play around in this lovely spot. Once you walk along the North side of the... More

Beautiful autumn setting, nice trails away from the Falls. Take the trails down to the lake for the most peaceful walk.

Always a beautiful view and place for scenic photos, especially in the Fall. The walk is easy for those with special needs. The visitor center is full of wonderful info, a nice giftshop and clean bathrooms. Best of all, you can't beat the free admission fee!

Fall colors, inmersed on a well kept national park. To take photos on every walk. Nice store at entrance.

Was very busy on a beautiful autumn weekend. Be advised that there's free parking near the visitors center, but you have to buy a permit if you park down by the lake. The crowds stuck mostly to the falls trails, but the others weren't crowded at all! Highly recommend the Gitchi Gummi Trail or the Superior Hiking Trail. Both have... More
