I visited the Zoo twice on the same day. I found the Trip to be Entertaining. The Primate exhibit wasn't the same as another Zoo I visited, The Seattle Zoo in 1983. There are no Walruses in the exhibit here. Also, There were no Herpetologist exhibits at the time, at the Como Zoo. There are much colder temperatures at the Como... More

We visited the arboretum on a trip to the twin cities. So beautiful and so warm! A great escape from the frigid temperatures. The suggested donation makes this an affordable attraction for anyone. Probably going to be an annual visitor.

My family visited the CPZC last weekend and we had a blast. We were looking to get out of the house an this was exactly what we were looking for. There is no price of admission, they do take donations. The indoor conservatory was great with plants, flowers and wildlife as they were showing off the new baby snakes, frogs... More

My wife and I have been visiting Como at least every other year since 2008 and never knew that you could walk through Tropical Encounters! It was an added bonus as the weather outside was nearly passing 5 above, a stark contrast to the temperature along the short, but well designed Tropical Encounter. The monkeys and apes were doing great-... More

Como zoo has a long history, nestled in St Paul. While it is not as large as Minnesota's other zoo, it has attractions for all ages. The conservatory alone is worth the visit for adults, the children will enjoy the wildlife exhibits and rides. It is of course very family friendly. The adjoining park is a great place for a... My family has visited the conservatory for more than 30 years, ironically during the LONG winters here. Weddings here are legendary. Our children grew up going to the zoo and enjoyed the family friendly amusement park and picnic lunches. We never had to worry about our security.

This is an amazing place especially in winter when everyone needs a warm humid climate to indulge one's dry cold body in even for a short period of time. The Conservatory does an incredible job changing out their flowers/plants for the season and they also have the permanent growth with signs describing each including name and what the plant may... As a couple or with grandchildren we very much enjoy the zoo and gardens because they are well maintained and the size is manageable for a couple of hour visit. In winter the inside tropical displays are an inviting respite from snow and cold, Many floral displays are rotated so that the garden is always changing. A donation is suggested

A couple times a year, usually winter, I take my two grandsons (6&8) to the Conservatory. They are very active young boys, but they really seem to enjoy these visits. There is something calming about the warmth and beauty of this gem. They have even turned down the option of walking through the zoo in favor of of a stroll... More

Como Park Zoo and Conservatory is a wonderful place to take a young family. There is small and humane zoo (one of only five free zoos in the country -- so give them a donation if you can) a beautiful conservatory complete with sunken garden with a new flower show every six -eight weeks, a fern room, a Japanese garden...
