I went to the library to warm up and to rest after some sightseeing. There was free wi-fi and washroom facilities in the library. Current newspapers and magazines were available for reading. There was an informative display on F. Scott Fitzgerald who was born in St. Paul. I had enjoyed my visit to the Saint Paul Public Library.

This is quite the library building. The James J. Hill reference library is interesting to see too. I have great memories of watching the puppet shows in the children's book section when I was a kid. The only library that I have seen that is better than the downtown St. Paul Library is the Library of Congress.

You will feel like you have been transported back in time when you visit the Central library in downtown Saint Paul. Climb the marble staircase for a stunning view of the Missisippi. The F. Scott Fitzgerald alcove is a must-see for literature fans.

It's free, and gives you the feeling of being in a movie set. I had the privilege to work in this gem for many years. Ask the librarians for a brief tour, and don't miss looking up at the beautiful paintings and symbols on the second floor ceilings. Be sure to go the Hill Library connected to the second floor.... I have enjoyed many hours at the main library in Saint Paul, exploring the stacks, enjoying the many magazines, finding great books. A beautiful and impressive building.

The St Paul Public Library is one of my lifelines, providing me with hours and hours of reading and learning. I can request books I hear about, that are recommended by others, read book reviews, and order up films in which I can get lost. My local library is always decorated with book recommendations as part of seasonal themes, with... More

If you are visiting this part of St. Paul, stop in the old library. It's quite a good older type library, lots o book, city history info and just a nice place to take a break.

On a recent visit to St Paul, we took a quick tour of the historic Public Library next to Rice Park. We noticed the historic marble building from a distance and went to investigate. We found a brochure to guide us through this beautiful building. It is a working library, but it is the beautiful structural details that makes this... More

In the heart of St. Paul bordering the south side of Rice Park is the large Central Library Building of the St. Paul Library System. There are many neighborhood libraries located throughout the city, but this one deserves a visit because of its wonderful architecture and bountiful treasures inside - books, CDs, DVDs, newspapers and magazines, computers, and scheduled events, such... At on time, the "Mind of the City" was a slogan used to promote the library system. This building is worthy of something that is meant to reflect and contain the 350,000 books that compose this beautiful mind. The building was finished in 1917, in the later part of World War I. The Central Library Building is the center piece... More
