If you are a Minnesotan, then it's your civic duty to go to the great Minnesota get together. If you're travelling in Minnesota during the State Fair, then you are in luck. I can't imagine a better tourist attraction. The way that people experience the state fair is a lot like family holidays; everyone has their own tradition. For my... More

A good time was had by all, but, for a senior traveler, there needs to be more benches by the trolley stops. :-)

We had a fantastic time, walking around, talking with the friendly people, sampling food & drink. Visiting the many building areas, vendors, animals. Topped it off with a concert in the grandstand. Next year 2 days.

Been attending the state fair since I was six and will continue until I can no more. I return annually. The grounds are kept pretty clean, although you see crushed Martha's cookies on the ground once in awhile. Overall, it's big and tidy. The restrooms tend to be clean and stocked. There are benches throughout. Some in shade and others... More

This was my 9 th year to the fair and it never fails that I find a building or area that I've never seen before. This year as always I parked at the free shuttle at the Ford Plant. The drop off location was on the North side instead of the South in previous years. Took me awhile to gain... More

We visited on Saturday, August 23, 2014. We bought advanced tickets at Cub Foods for a $3 discount for admission and we did not have to wait in long lines to purchase tickets at the fair itself. When we left the fair the lines for purchasing tickets were 40 people deep in each and every line. We drove to the... More

This is not to be missed! Even if you must travel from halfway across the world, come at least once in your lifetime. There is more food on a stick, craft beers, farm animals, rides, tractors, free music, parades, blue ribbon plants/animals/food/creative arts than can be managed in one day. Every year, the 12 days leading up through Labor Day,... More

Has it all, farm animals, art, culture, class, terrific food, incredible people watching. Perfect anything on a stick, french fries, deep fried cheese curds, pronto pups, killer brownies and chocolate chip cookies with the ice cold fresh milk you can drink to boot. Great concert line ups, awesome parades and exhibits. What more can you ask for!!

The MN State Fair is an annual tradition. You should go. There are typically a lot of people but overall the crowds move a long and even if you don't love crowds - you'll be okay. Here are a few tips: Take the free shuttles from many area businesses, churches, etc. It's awesome, fast and convenient. Way less stress than... More
