Don't miss it; don't even be late. Especially the late part. There are so many ways to enjoy the fair. My tips are: Go early. There's a magic to the early mornings at the fair, especially over by the animal barns. Did you know there's a grocery store tucked in over by the barns? Bring a small day pack to... More

I had a brilliant day out when I went to the MN State Fair. If you want to eat anything, it comes deep fried... on a stick. Convenient, fatty, delicious. I went with my bf at the time and as a Brit in the US I have to say I was not disappointed by the friendliness and welcoming nature of... More

State Fair can get hectic on certain days like weekends, but if you go really early in the morning on a weekday you can catch more attractions with less crowds. Lots of animals to see and a variety of foods to try on a stick. Great bands at the Grandstands on the weekends! Highly recommend trying the ski lift chairs... More

A mob that is worth the effort... Something for everyone at the Minnesota State Fair. You can watch a live birth at the Miracle of Birth Barn, feel the sights, sounds and smells of many cultures colliding at the International Bazar and see blue ribbon handcrafts. Most partake of some food on a stick from corn, corn dog to bacon... More

The Minnesota State fair is an event you cannot miss. Watch for special deals and special days for great savings. You save a lot with advanced planning. It's a summer event our family never misses. Plan a whole day from early morning into night to get the whole experience.

There's so much to see and do at the MN State Fair that there's certainly something for everyone. You can't do it all in one day, so I always go at least twice. And if you like food, this is the place for you! You can eat anything and everything especially if it's on a stick. Once you've been there... More

While not annual attendees we do try to make it to the state fair at least every other year. We love walking the barns; talking to the 4Hers and yes, avoiding the pitfalls! Add some good old fashioned deep fried anything on a stick and you have a summer day that tops all others! Enjoy the fair - go more... More

If you like fairs, you have to do this one. Fair grounds are huge, there are plenty of shows during the day at various locations. The barns are filled with animals of all kinds. But of course, the star attraction is the food, nothing healthy but who cares? Plan on spending a full day.

The Minnesota is pure spectacle with plenty of food, but nothing (that I have seen) healthy. I recommend that you take in the classics: the large yellow slide; Sweet Martha's cookies (with a cold glass of milk); and a stroll through the barns. The midway is very ordinary and worth skipping, but most people love trying new things deep fried... More
