You have to go ! ( at least once) truly worth the trip if your not from Minn. On this one day in August about 250,000 people showed up to EAT ! It goes on for 10 days and millions of people attend. This is "anything on a stick week". Crowds/ cows / concerts/ carnival rides/ Exhibits/ hot weather and... More

Gotta love the old state fair. Not much other than some new foods added ever seem to change. Although Machinery Hill is pretty much void of Farmers Tractors and equipment and has been replaced with some spendy Homeowners Tractors and Equipment. Even in some of the buildings where the trades people set up to sell their wares you can still... More

One of the best state fairs in the Country! Well laid out grounds, great variety of foods and beverages, a grandstand program of big name performers that appeal to visitors of all ages, and an ever changing portfolio of exhibits including art, music, science and home improvements. The Midway and the streets are always filled with great people watching. I... More

I'm not native to Minnesota, but after 11 years of living here, I call it home. If you only do two things in Minnesota: Go to the BWCA. Go to the MN State Fair. I think only Texas' State Fair tops us in numbers. Here, you can get everything deep-fried that you could EVER dream of (e.g., pickles, Twinkies, ice... More

I believe this is the best State Fair in the US. We went to the Texas State Fair two years ago and it doesn't even compare to ours, for one thing it's too hot to enjoy. The animals barns smell so bad we never even visited them like we do here. We also took in the Florida State Fair awhile... More

It's been 3 years since I've been to the state fair. I never use to like it, the food are over priced and tickets are expensive. I'll probably go there in a couple of years again.

Enjoyed seeing all the horses and the vendor items displayed. Had a great time and the seats in the coliseum were so comfortable! Much better than bench seating!

I had no idea how popular this state fair was? Had heard for years how great it was and we stopped off this year to see. It was worse then Disney on Fourth of July. Wall to wall people would be an understatement. It was fun but didn't get to see much. They do not have a acceptable handicap situation.... More
