The Cathedral of St. Paul is an impressive landmark atop the hill above downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. It vies with the Minnesota State Capitol Building as impressive landmarks to the north and west of the downtown skyline. Not a particularly significant building architecturally, it is nonetheless beautiful, especially lit-up and hovering above the city at night, and it has historical... More

No, this isn't Strasbourg and you won't find gothic architecture and flying buttresses. Nevertheless I recommend a stop here if you have an afternoon in St Paul, either as a local or a visitor. The dome is worth seeing inside and out.

The Cathedral of St. Paul has the feel of a European cathedral. When you step inside, you are transported away from Minnesota and to a more classical time and place. If you are in or near downtown St. Paul, it is worth the few minute drive to the cathedral and the surprise that awaits you inside.

I am not an official member here, but often stop in to light a candle (one of the few churches where I can) in the hall of saints. I've been mesmerized by it since I was a child. I also attend Christmas Eve midnight mass-- astounding. Especially if the archbishop is absent.

It's very spiritual. Has awesome art and statues....It's like an old world Cathedral....and I believe it was modeled after them. It echoes every sound when a small amount of people are in it. I have very personal reasons for loving it. relatives married there etc. Our church as a child, but almost anyone who visits it is impressed. You will... More

Amazing architecture...it's enormous and just beautiful. It's worth a stop-even if all you get to see is the outside.

It is an impressive church on a high prominent point. As a Christian it was very impressive. The old churchs were a thing of beauty and this one is definitely in that category.
