Lots for kids and adults to see. We were there to see the King Tut exhibit. The exhibit was very thorough and included explanations for everything. The rest of the museum including the shop was exciting and interesting.

I wish the museum did more changing of exhibits during the year. They bring in these huge themes, like mummies, and it runs for months at a time. The rest of the museum however, never seems to change. The kids area has the same exhibits and layouts every time we're there.....for some reason, as a kid, I thought I rememberd... More

View the dinosaur exhibit, eat in the airy cafeteria with good views of the Mississippi, explore a great aerial view of the area embedded in the floor, see an Omni IMAX film, stroke fur pelts, jump on the musical spots on the floor, and generally have a good time. The signs and labels are clear and concise and written at... More

Special Exhibits are a big draw. We enjoyed seeing the Titanic Exhibition a couple yrs ago...presented very well with many personal touches. We were given a name (card) of an actual passenger aboard the Titanic, so to view the experience from that vantage point, finding out the quarters of that passenger on the ship and the outcome of their experience.... Probably fun for kids, but for someone older there isnt as much of interest. Dont get me wrong, the museum has some great stuff, but nothing that truly made me go "wow".

Saw Tornado Alley at the Omni and LOVED it; being a fan of severe weather also helps. Bill Paxton, the star of Twister, was the appropriate narrator for this 40 min film and it featured a Tornado Intercept Vehicle, which was built to withstand a tornado. See this film!

It's sometimes hard to find times when visitors can come when they are working in the city. Check their website to see what the special event is to see if it's something you are interested in.

This museum has an omni theater that has great movies throughout the year. Traveling exhibits have been well-done and are always interesting. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help with questions. If they can't answer something they will do research and get back to you with answers.

Like to get here at least once a year. They have a large variety of permanent and temporary exhibits. Most are hands-on. I think they have a lot of unique and worthwhile items in the gift shop. We always see whatever is showing in the Omnitheater which has the large, overhead panoramic screen.
