We took the City of Rochester tour on Friday July 18, 2014 at 10:00 am. I pre-purchased our tickets online for $15 each. We were picked up in front of the downtown Rochester Marriott hotel. Promptly and efficiently entered the open air trolley on a beautiful morning. I have lived in Minnesota for almost my entire life and had never... More

We took this tour and learned so much about the history of the Mayo Clinic and the City of Rochester. The tour guide made it really interesting and he knew lots of awesome and obscure facts about the city, its history and sites. Loved it!

The tour was very informative. My son(17 yoa) and I had a great time, and we had a great tour guide, Carl. He took us to homes and farms. We talked to Amish men, women and kids. We bought Amish goods from people in their homes. All the people were very friendly.

We took a tour up the Mississippi River to Wabasha to see the eagles. Carl was a great tour guide. WE learned lots of interesting things about Minnesota, the Mississippi, parks and other things we saw. We stopped at a great sandwich shop for lunch, had the best ice cream. It rivals Blue Bell. Also got to shop at the... More

I stayed at the Fiksdahl Hotel in Rochester which was an official stop for the tour. I bought a ticket at the front desk and saw, per the trolley poster, that they would stop there at 25 after the hour. It was raining outside so I stayed inside. I saw the trolley whiz past at 22 after the hour without... More

My husband and I surprised my father with a tour of Amish-owned businesses located in SE Minnesota. The tour guide was very friendly, knew each of the families whose homes/businesses we visited, and made a point of knowing each tour go-er's name. The tour included stopping at an Amish-owned green house, carpentry shop, rug-maker's home, and chocolatier's farmhouse. The tour... More

This 75 minute tour of the Rochester area provided a lot of historical information and gave you a good idea of the area's attractions. There is the opportunity to jump off for a while to visit some of the sites, including a local mall. The driver was very friendly and knowledgeable.

It was with some excitement that we boarded the first trolley scheduled an August morning in Rochester. For little cash we could get a sense of many wonderful and historical places. The tour about the city was great and we were pleased about the stop at Mayowood. However, because of a concession made to some tourists who delayed the departure,... More

1 hr overview of Rochester, MN. Includes history of Mayo Clinic, historic houses and just how the area developed. Was a great tour guide, lots of interesting stops. And there was an Irish festival going on downtown! Definitely worth the money and time to get a perspective on how a premier medical location in the US got its start.

This $10 trolley tour of the city of Rochester was a great way to see the sights and hear the history. However, we didn't get the full tour and were disappointed not to have been taken down the historical Mayowood Mansion corridor...so, we drove there on our own the next day. Look up the Mayowood Mansion tour schedule--I recommend taking... More
