The ARTBASH 2014 fundraiser was a blast! Three bands, delicious food, and a great vibe. Meeting the artist at the Emerging Artist Opening and viewing the Michael Sailstorfer Exhibition, that same night, was a real treat. Be sure to check the calendar so you don't miss up coming exhibition openings, programs, like Stetch!, and other events which will expand your... More

Walked thru the skywalk from mayo clinic. Very contemporary building. Walked thru all the exhibits. Able to do in an hour. Or less. Great diversion while in between appointments

The venue itself is nice, we were there for an event. Parking is difficult and requires a long walk. The event was catered by Canadian Honker, which always does great. The venue has rotating art displays, but it really isn't much to speak of or see. The areas with galleries can be covered in 20 minutes. With a look if... More

I've gone several time over the years hoping something would be good but I am always embarrassed for them and leave with nothing but a feeling that I will never go there again. There is nothing there. Sometimes, literally empty rooms. It's not even as good as a high school art show. I do not understand these other reviews. Really?... More

A great way to spend an hour or a few hours, looking and thinking about what is going on in another world. A way to free your mind from the daily world. Have fun and have creative thoughts.

We didn't expect a lot but were disappointed that there was so little art on display, and this after we took a sneak peek at the show opening shortly. We were the only visitors on no-admission fee Thursday. That says it all.

They are always expanding on who and what to bring in to the Rochester Art Center (RAC). All day Thursdays are free admission and once a month (first Saturday) they have free family day usually including a fun art project for the whole family. I have been to numerous wedding at the RAC and they are always beautiful. Right on... More

Beautiful building, but largely empty. There are no classes offered for the community outside of an occasional summer class for children, few events, and the facility is hugely underutilized. A world-class city of this size deserves MUCH better. I keep hoping there will be classes for adults taught by regional artists, but no. As it is, this center has very... More

Beautiful, small classy venue in an easy to get to Civic Center location. Where are the exhibits that are equal to the venue? After we finished walking through the exhibits we looked at each other in disbelief. How can such a great location in such a forward thinking city have what amounted to pretty much nothing on the floor? Very... More

The Art Center is a non-collecting contemporary art museum. As such the art is always new and ever changing. The curatorial excellence far exceeds what would be expected in a city the size of Rochester. The sophistication of the community has resulted in an art museum "worthy of the excellence of the Mayo clinic"
