Peaceful place

Awesome view and very clean park. Go to lower quarry, first stop, and go on top of the lime rock. Bring a firelog at dusk. Absolutely amazing

Red Wing is a nice small river town on the Mississippi. We took in a nice lunch then checked out Memorial Park, on Sorin Bluff. Just across from Sorin Bluff is Barn Bluff with a trail up to the top. The trail is 2.25 miles round trip. There is parking at the bottom of the trail. The trail is a... More

The view over Red Wing was worth the hike, but the hike was not easy and the trail is "rustic". We also had a little difficulty finding the access point walking form the downtown area.

Barn Bluff is a large 340 foot bluff and public park near the center of downtown Red Wing. The landmark is called Barn Bluff since it looks like a giant barn from a distance. The Barn Bluff trailhead starts at the cement staircase on the far eastern end of the Bluff. There was a lot of street parking nearby so... More

As a group we enjoyed the climb to the top , sometimes a little chalenging for those not fit but by taking your time the sites to see and view over Red Wing and surrounding area is quite breathtaking. Good footware and your camera are a must.

A good walk for those who are in average shape and a remarkable view. The trail markings are a little confusing but it is a small enough park to where you won't get lost for long.

Very accessible hike to some excellent views of the river valley, bluffs and the town of Redwing. You can get to everything and back in an hour of hiking/walking. It's not too strenuous.

See the city and the Mississippi from an eagles eye view. The hike was a little challenging but worth the effort. The historical connections make this a must do.

When in the area last year I saw the large rise over Red Wing but didn't know it was Barn Bluffs until reading it on TA before coming back this year. Picked a nice day and we hiked to the top. If you have had knee ACL surgeries its a little tough on ya but its worth it when you... More

When I was growing up in Red Wing, Barn Bluff was a place for climbing that we took advantage of at least once a month during the good weather months. Concrete steps made an easy climb to the top of the bluff. In the early 20th century, Chief Red Wing (one of a few: the original Chief Red Wing lived... More
