A good walk for those who are in average shape and a remarkable view. The trail markings are a little confusing but it is a small enough park to where you won't get lost for long.

Very accessible hike to some excellent views of the river valley, bluffs and the town of Redwing. You can get to everything and back in an hour of hiking/walking. It's not too strenuous.

See the city and the Mississippi from an eagles eye view. The hike was a little challenging but worth the effort. The historical connections make this a must do.

When in the area last year I saw the large rise over Red Wing but didn't know it was Barn Bluffs until reading it on TA before coming back this year. Picked a nice day and we hiked to the top. If you have had knee ACL surgeries its a little tough on ya but its worth it when you... More

When I was growing up in Red Wing, Barn Bluff was a place for climbing that we took advantage of at least once a month during the good weather months. Concrete steps made an easy climb to the top of the bluff. In the early 20th century, Chief Red Wing (one of a few: the original Chief Red Wing lived... More

My wife and I recently hiked up to both the east and west overlooks on Barn Bluff. The hike is relatively short and not overly steep. Once you're at one of the overlooks, the hiking path to the other overlook is level and not at all strenuous. The view of Red Wing from the west overlook looking up river was... More

It was a quick hike with a nice view. Wear good shoes that you don't mind getting muddy. Bring a camera for great shots of the river and town below.

There needs to be clearer instructions since the high trail was closed when we almost reached the top. Otherwise the view was outstanding.

I wanted to do something special for my wife. She is the love of my life and in October of this we will have been married 58 years. Being older and having bad backs the car ride was a breeze from the Twin Cities to Red Wing. The hotel is a historic site and although older is very well kept... More

Beautiful park with tons of trails for every level of outdoor enthusiast. Free, so it is quite lovely for those on a budget as well. And the views are spectacular!
