Wonderful, beautiful place with amazing wildflowers and plentiful wildlife. On my 2.8 mile hike I saw monarch butterflies, my first Pileated Woodpecker, and the most beautiful golden-brown doe I've ever seen. Remember though that this is Minnesota so bring your bug spray. Haha. We have mosquitos that can suck you dry and they are very persistent. And stay hydrated. Heat... More

I came out here in July to do some hiking. I parked by the swimming area and was impressed by how nice and clean the man made beach was. It was pretty full when I walked by. The trail I hiked wound its way through the woods. There were some really nice hills for hiking out here and the trails... More

Everything you will enjoy at this Minnesota State Park. Camping , Swimming, Hiking, with the great town of New Ulm right outside the gates. New Ulm's rich German Heritage and attractions keep this a great get away. Very clean, family friendly and great staff at this Park.

We just enjoyed walking about in certain areas along the river. There is man-made, sand-bottom lake there of varying depths complete with sand all around its perimeter. If I were a camper, I'd camp here.

Love love love this park. It's trails are well maintained, has a wonderful sand bottom pool and in the summer lots of berries to pick. Watch out for the mosquitos though! A 13 month pass is one $25 and gets you into all MN State parks. If you live in NU the pass is worth it even if you're only... More

We stayed in the semi-modern area (electrical outlets and walking distance to real bathrooms/showers). Bathrooms were very clean and relatively new. Campsites are pretty close quarters, considering nearly everyone has a large camper/trailer. Swimming pool is fantastic. Chlorinated water, sandy bottom, lifeguards on duty and surrounded on all sides by sandy beach. There's a very shallow side and one small... More

Gates lock you into the park/camping area from 10pm to 8 am. That is an accident waiting to happen! No one at the office told us that.

Our family of four camped with my sister and her children on 2 sites. Used the rustic sites as the electric was like condo central. The sites are small in the electric area, and people SPRAWL. The sites we reserved were taken over by the neighbors, so we moved to the rustic, which was nice and quiet. The swimming pool... More

Flandrau State Park is a nice park to spend a weekend relaxing and enjoying the swim pond just steps away from the camp grounds. We just returned from a weekend visit, and are we glad we got an electric site, even though all we had were our tents. We anticipated the heat and brought along extension cords and a fan...great...
