Flandrau State park can be summed up in two words: Family Fun! Although my daughter is now a young adult, we really wanted to camp at Flandrau and swim in the sand-bottom chlorine pool, which by the way, is in incredible! It's clean and well maintained. We were there on one of the hottest Fridays of July and it was... More

What a beautiful park! It was easy to get to from the Twin Cities for a little get away. The swimming pool, which is chlorinated and has a sandy bottom, was perfect for a hot day, but it was crowded. I imagine people from the city of New Ulm get day passes and come to swim with their children. Hiking... More

Spent 2 nights in the non-electric camp sites in a tent. Ranger station was nice as was the staff. Ice and firewood available to purchase. We stayed in site 21 close to nice bathroom and showers. Swim pool is so awesome - chlorinated as well. Easy walking path. Overall nice stay for a day and it's in the heart of... More

I enjoyed camping here. Nice park! Enjoyed the "pool" each morning. A few geocaches to top the trip off. Nice picnic areas as well.

This state park is in the middle of the city of New Ulm but you don't feel like you are in town because of the natural woodsy setting. We have camped here for years, and it's always full, so you have to reserve pretty far in advance. There are lots of great hiking trails and the kids love the sand... More

The trail here are fun, some challenging. The campground gives you space. I love the camper cabins. They give you the camping experience without the expense of a camper or hassle of tents. Just bring your own sheets. Flandrau also offers fun experiences like snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The pool is great fun for all ages and the river... More

Visited before it opened on Memorial Day. Looks like a great place to camp. Maps provided do not provide clear directions.

Flandrau State Park is one of our favorite places to camp. We have only ever camped in the electric sites, so I can't speak to the non-electric, group or remote sites. The campground is well maintained and pretty well laid out. Some sites are very close together, mainly in the middle. Other sites are very nicely spread out, mainly around... More

This park is full of beautiful trails and curious wildlife. We've seen something every time we've walked there. There are several scenic overlooks, all breathtaking, especially in the fall. This park is so beautiful it's where my husband chose to propose :)

Lots to do! Camping, lots of hiking trails, swim in the sand bottom pool, park facilities, volleyball, shelter (great for family reunions). Quiet escape in the middle of town.
