Fun to walk the grounds and have cheese plate and beer and enjoy the gardens. It is always fun to take the tour and try the different beers.

My wife and I stopped at the Schell Brewery in early October hoping for a tour. The fall season is not when there are weekday tours, so we walked the grounds and visited the shop. We have been there before, and it is always a great experience.

Shell's is the 2nd oldest family run brewery in the U.S. It's historical. Do you need another reason to visit? Actually, the tour is entertaining, informative, and ends in the tasting room. Want to bring the kids? No problem. The tasting room serves 1919 root beer.

Schell's is a 150 yr old brewery with much history including surviving probation and finding a business plan which has been very successful...... Enjoy the tap room.

Tour was nearly 50 people, way too big to successfully navigate the small hallways and stairways on the tour. Short and didn't really say much. The best part was the friendly tour guide and the tasting room (although there was almost too much beer to taste!)
