We had a fun time touring the brewery. The grounds are beautiful, even during the off season. The tour guide was interesting and knowledgable. But most important, the beer was great! I love that the brewery is still family owned! I must see if you are visiting New Ulm!

Excellent choice of beers! Go and visit the brewery and enjoy a tour and sample the many beers they have to offer in their tap room. If you want to come for a party make time during bock fest or October fest for music good food and a great crowd and the beer of course!

First timers. Fun gift shop, nice grounds...even in December, interesting little tour with generous samples at the end (including 1919 Rootbeer if you choose). Seems to be a given of something you should do while in town. Nice parks on the way to the entrance.

I thought this was a great tour. The only negative would be IF someone has a problem with stairs. We are taken into the actual brewery and the only way in is up some stairs. The history of the place is very interesting also. At the end of the tour, we are given some of their beers to taste. It... More

We toured this brewry on a November afternoon. We've been on other brewery tours which are longer and more extensive. We really like this tour & enjoyed our time in the tasting room.

Visit the 2nd oldest brewery in the US. It is only $3/person which includes the tasting! Beautiful grounds with Peacocks roaming.

Great tour and even better tour guides....ending in the tap room gives you a chance to sample to yearly and seasonal beers. Highly recommended!

Your was fun and informative. The grounds the brewery is on is beautiful. We received a lot of samples and even a free full beer. I'm not a huge fan of schells beer, but overall, great experience.

I attended the 2013 Oktoberfest celebration at the Schell's Brewery in New Ulm with my fianceee (now wife). Almost as soon as the gates opened the tours were filled up for the day. That was disappointing but we could deal with it. We walked in and purchased beer tickets, each got a beer, and started walking around. You couldn't bring... More

Dear SRJG - Thank you for your comments from our 2013 Oktoberfest. We did have some issues with time coordination at our 2013 event, but resolved those in 2014. We like to have tickets available for festers in case they want to eat anything at the end of the day, and our bars close approximately 15 minutes prior to the... More

A fun but brief tour. The time at the end of the tour in the tap room is very enjoyable with product samples :)
