Lovely place, lots of free things to do

This place is very nice. There are walking/hiking trails, a swimming beach, free parking. Lots to do here - and your visit can be entirely free.

It almost seems like the city forgets to keep the grounds up around this pretty lake. After a particular storm last year, downed trees and flooded paths were a fixture for weeks. It is a bit more quiet than the other lakes in Minneapolis for this reason.

This is my least favorite of the Minneapolis lakes - it borders busier streets, and just isn't as pretty to walk around as Lake Harriet or Lake of the Isles.

Walk, bike, play. Look around as people and pets let their hair down enjoying the weather, sights and sounds. Fun for all!!

This is the lake for the young kids (16-25) to hang. Lots of public spaces around the lake for football, soccer, frisbee or walking. Dont mis this if you are a hipster.

POND HOCKEY was a grand well planned event. Refreshments, safety, fun...all good. Nokomis neighbors and people from all parts of U.S. played and watched.

Lake Nokomis is a great place to take a walk while watching airplanes at the same time. I came across the lake on accident and was quite pleased with the discovery. A paved path wraps around the 2.7 mile perimeter of the lake. I enjoyed a quiet walk on a fall evening with friends with a few other walkers and... More

It aS about $20 per and we had a blast. The gave a US some quick tips and we were off. This was a first for us and we had a fine time. They also have canoes and kayaks too. We also saw log rolling training.

The lake is great for many activities! Paddling and swimming are popular in the summer and the paved trails are great for a warm weather stroll - be it walking, biking, rollerblading or skating! In the winter, the lake freezes over and the US Pond Hockey Championship brings hockey players from all around. I have played in the USPHC a... More

We rented their bikes to ride around the lake and it was fun! Next time we will bring our own bikes and a picnic lunch. Very comfortable and a great beach if you want to go swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, etc. We paid for the parking and it was easy to do.
