Most evenings in the summer host free concerts at this bandshell. Plenty of seats, but for the most popular concerts, bring your blanket or lawn chair and a picnic basket laden with goodies. Or buy your food at the Bread and Pickle next door. The lines can be long, but worth the wait.

From the band shell, you ca follow a walking path around the lake and stop at the bird sanctuary and the rock garden. It is best to do this in the summer or early fall, but the paths were full of folks out to enjoy a late fall day.

Bring a blanket and snacks and wine, or come early for a bench seat, purchase snacks there, stroll along the lakefront. All while listening to all kinds of free plein aire music

WOW, how can you beat such a setting for free music and shows. Parking can be tough if it's popular show, so get there early and bring a chair. The back setting of Lake Harriet is perfect and having the nearby snack bar is even better. Gotta love this city amenity!!!

The Lake Harriet band shell is a great destination for a summer evening concert. Make sure you check out the concert schedule. They offer a variety of types of music . Bring your lawn chairs and a picnic, and enjoy the show. They have benches to sit on, if you prefer. There is a concession stand with snacks and beverages.... More

You know it is summer when you take in some music at the Lake Harriet Band Shell. Lots of people came out to hear the Belfast Cowboys but this place is simply a wonderful venue and park to experience music on a hot summer night. Check the schedule, bring a chair and picnic and go have some fun.

Visiting here was truly lovely. I was lucky to catch several free concerts and shows, they even did an outdoor movie. The Lake as the back drop was simply perfect and the many ducks that you could feed as they swam around was so quaint.

A picnic spread on a blanket listening to the Minneapolis Pops was a perfect evening. Linden Hills is fortunate to have the band shell and music being offered free to the public. The band shell, lake and venue are well-kept and clean. Food is available for purchase and bathroom facilities are also available. Enjoy your summer with family and friends... More

The free concerts and movie nights at the Band Shell are always fun (and very, very crowded) on a lovely summer night. Good food options as well. Be prepared to show up early for a show or movie to get a good seat!
