What a beautiful place to see a concert. Hubby and I saw Boz Scaggs. The venue was gorgeous and ornate. And the sound was incredible. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. With most older theaters the seats are crowded. It didn't feel crowded at all. We traveled 4 hours to see the show. We will... More

The lobby was very eloquent. The theatre has a very comfortable feel and I would recommend seeing a play or concert there.

Saw a couple of my favorite artists here, never thought they could sound better than they already did, but the state theatre is a beautiful venue!

Went last night to Sarah McLachlan. It is an ornate theatre and has decent amenities. The staff is pretty serious about taking care of the trouble-makers so the rest of us enjoy our experience. The sound is great and every seat on the main floor is a good view of the stage.

Love seeing musicals here. Gorgeous old theater. Great sound. Sonderful views of the stage. Long lines for bathrooms at intermission, so make sure you go before it starts.

My wife and I have attended both a concert and a comedy show at this theater this year. Both of our experiences were very positive. The venue is beautiful, and we found the acoustics to be fine for both the concert and the show. The seating (and seat comfort) is about what you would expect from an older theater such... More

Fun place for an evening. VERY overpriced drinks!! Two cocktails cost us $33. Next time we'll bring our own water in with us.

I can understand the dilemma for the owners of State Theatre. On the one hand it is historic, the architecture, the artwork, the whole look and feel is very 1921, the year it was built. According to Wikipedia it was at one time state of the art. It used to have a glass stage to allow amazing lighting effects, and... More
