There is not a bad seat in this gorgeous theater. It is my favorite spot in The Cities to catch a show. It has slightly over 2,000 seats but none are far from the stage; it is pure architectural genius in every way. My favorite show so far was the brilliant Sarah McLachlan. She was wonderful and relatable. Her music... More

The staff was outstanding and helpful, and the second floor bar was a hidden gem! Every seat is a GREAT seat, the interior decor is luscious and the acoustics are superb. We've enjoyed every event that we've attended here.

The State Theatre is the perfect venue for a Broadway show. I saw the musical Once and the sound was pure perfection. The State is a smaller venue compared to some, so there really is no bad seat in the house. Yet there is no feeling cramped either. The theatre has been beautifully restored. There is parking right around the... More

Great Concert venue, have gone many times for various artists over the years, as it it is in my Minnesota backyard.

Been in shows in the front of the pit, the middle and both sides of balcony. While the venue is beautiful and a historic gem, the theater needs a sound makeover. There are no speakers above the stage level. I have left in the middle to shows by top artists due to sound. Also, the curfew is not conducive to... More

This is a wonderfully restored theater in downtown Minneapolis. You can throw a rock and hit 15 bars and restaurants in a nice part of downtown. I am a 350 lb man and the seats were comfortable. This was a great experience from start to finish. The only thing I didn't love was $9 beers and $12 mixed drinks.

This is a fantastic venue for concerts! We recently saw Chicago play there and sat in the front row of the balcony. Excellent views and acoustics. Phenomenal inside décor in the lobby and all parts of the theatre. Intricate and gorgeous. I love this venur

We recently - March 7, 2015 -- caught a performance of Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion at the State Theater and it was a great night. The user staff is amazing. The theater restoration is beautiful. The State offers Rush tickets for many of its performances the day of the event. Check them out. We got $60 tickets for $15.... More

The venue is better than at the Orpheum (aka more leg room), however, a blocked view due to poor elevation of rows (we were in X on the main floor), and tickets were $70.00. One can only crane the neck so much to see past the person in front of you. We have season tickets at the Orpheum, however, this... More

Went here for a concert. The theatre ceiling, etc are beautifully restored. Nice sight line and acoustics, but really tight seating. When someone wants to enter the row, there is barely enough room for them to enter even with standing up for them to pass. There is more leg room at both the Orpheum and Pantages theatre which are if... More
