Wonderful walk along the Mississippi

Multiple choices on both sides of the river. Bike, runner, and walker friendly. On a good weather day, a perfect choice. On a bad weather day, walk the skyway.

After hearing how fabulous the river-front area was, we had to see for ourselves. We walked 1.5 miles from downtown, crossed a bridge and saw a path with a few people jogging. We thought "Maybe it's further down....." as we had expected it to be lined with shops or at least have a single water fountain. Nope. That was it.... More

This is my favorite place to go for a run when I am in town. I get so distracted by the scenery that I lose track of my time, and end up running for miles.

Growing up a few blocks away from the Mississippi the River road has always been a great place to be. I've spent countless days walking, running and biking along this great corridor through Minneapolis. I of course Love to drive this way as often as I can. Great place for people watching but an even greater area for physical recreation.... More

Minneapolis is such a fantastic city and but for the cold winters, I would consider living here specifically for amenities like this bike path. Not your usual bike path created from abandonded rail lines, this one has utility and beauty. Alot like the rest of Minneapolis, utility and beauty.

River road is a bike trail along the Mississippi. Minneapolis does a great job maintaining its side. St. Paul needs to take some lessons. Whether you're biking, skating or running, there are great views of the river and its activities. It can be very busy in the summer.

We just returned from a week long stay in Minneapolis. I have heard about the many greenways in the city but had no idea how magnificent they really are! The River Road Trail is certainly the prettiest. It winds along the Mississippi River past little parks, beautiful homes and wonderful views of the river. We stopped along the way at... More

Historical, beautiful and varied you'll find everything you need in this trail to escape from the city right in the city on both sides (minneapolis & st. paul) The trail has been improved over the last 10 years and has a walking lane separate from the bikes and blades. Some parts even have a dirt path that takes you into... More

Bring your road bike or mountain bike and enjoy a couple of hours on this trail. You will view miles of the Mississippi, the Wiesman Art building reflecting its silver surface upon the river, a slew of parks, gorgeous homes along River Road, and a few historical sites, such as the Minnehaha Depot. On most days, the trail is well-used... More
