Love not going outside in winter!

The skyway system is an amazing option to get around downtown MN. You can get just about any type of food and lots of shopping without putting your coat on.

An excellent way to traverse the downtown area without bearing the cold even on mild winter days. I easily connected from my hotel to many of the downtown shops and restaurants. I also just walked to get some exercise and see parts of the city where traffic and congestion made it difficult to get around using city sidewalks. Some sections... More

The skyway only makes sense in a place like Minnesota. I've lived in and/or visited other cities around the USA and have never seen anything like it. You can walk for miles through many of the downtown buildings without ever going outside. It exists because Minnesota gets so bitterly cold in the winter and so miserably hot in the summer... More

The skyway system is just wonderful. You can get almost anyplace downtown and never have to deal with the weather. For the most part the Minneapolis Police do a good job of keeping it safe. Lots of small shops and places to eat. Links to all the major hotels and such and major shopping areas. For access to theaters and... More

I changed my mind on this skyway after a 10pm walk thru it. It's a great concept and works well but they need to keep the trouble out of it. We went a very short distance and there was a bum sleeping in the corner and a group of thugs that harassed us as we walked by not fun for... More

Definitely use the skyway when getting around downtown Minneapolis...especially when its cold outside. I do agree with other reviewers about getting a map. Our first time in the skyway several years ago was very frustrating and we got lost and swore we'd never use it again. But, since then we've grown to love it. You do have to pay attention... More

The Minneapolis Skyway System is clean, warm and convenient...whatever city leaders that originally thought of the idea were brilliant. I would never dream of staying in any hotel not connected to it in the wintertime.

Great way to move around downtown, especially when it's 1 degree outside! You can get within a 40 yard dash (though the freezing cold) from many of the downtown attractions, if not walk right into them. We had a great time winding our way through the maze of buildings, businesses, and bridges.
