Easy to get lost but that's the fun of it.

Skyway kept you out of the traffic, potential hazards and exhaust. Great directional signs but can get lost moving around the skyways.

The idea is sheer genius - though in reality, it's a test. If I hadn't been with someone blessed with an amazing sense of direction, I'd probably still be lost in there right now … I still loved it though. What a great way to get around without traffic, keep warm and dry, and find unexpected offshoots, coffee shops and... More

We got lost several times trying to make our way from the Marriott City Center to the Convention Center. It took longer than walking on the street; however, if it was snowing I'd have been grateful to get lost somewhere with heat. But it wasn't so I'm being slightly negative. The skywalk enables downtown to function at 100 percent regardless... More

An interesting way to get through a city when it's raining or snowing. My only complaints are that the directories are randomly placed in weird locations, and not at hallway interchanges, where they'd be most helpful. Also, some sort of "color coding system" or sectioning would be helpful because its really easy to get lost and all turned around when... More

As a downtown employee for many years, I am in love with our skyway system. I take long walks in the winter without a coat - my doctors, hair stylists, favorite restaurants and credit union are all on the skyway system. But honestly, it will take any person about 3 months to learn to navigate it with ease - some... More

The skyway system is a great idea and at the same time, so very confusing to visitors. The maps are decent but some markings or directions between maps at junctions would be really helpful. LIke a train route, if they just had arrows that pointed towards the end 'station' it would be very helpful. I have stopped people to ask... More

this was the first time that i have been downtown minneapolis. we walked thru the sky way through much of downtown from one destination to another. it is clean and a great way to get places while protected from the elements. there is an app for this so that you can find your way around easily.

Dated walkway with entrances to array of dining areas, offices and private flats... not quite sure what the fuss is about here. it's convenient, sure, and one avoids the chill on a windy day but to have this in the 'top 20' things to do in Minneapolis is a sad indictment of contributors to Trip Advisor... city has so much... Easy access to street level and hotels off the skyway. The skywalk was very clean and well travelled on the weekend we visited. I felt very safe while making my way over to the convention center.

I was in Minneapolis for 2 weeks in 2014 and in 2015 and with harsh winters at negative degrees I am able to walk everywhere I needed without going outside to the negative degree weather... just a point about MN is that most shops and stores close early and also the skyway does close earlier on weekends so be careful...
