The skyway system efficiently gets a walking traveler from one end of downtown to the other, and the many buildings and establishments along the way would keep anybody entertained and their minds off the long walk to anywhere. Safe and secure, even at night.

You definitely appreciate the skyway system in the winter! You can do everything in the skyway that you would do driving around. Get your hair cut, eat, shop for pretty much anything, and get to Target and all the other important stores. You can stay at a hotel and just go through the skyway for everything! One of the places... More

This is a great tool for a big city to have! I have used the Skyway two years in a row. If you take a wrong turn people are happy to help. It's clean and there is always security around. Absolutely loved it!

We were able to walk from our hotel to Target Center in about 7 minutes through the skyway system. It was subzero outside so the skyway was nice!

One of the most interesting urban planning phenomenon in the USA is the Minneapolis Skyway network. During the brutal cold winter, you can get most anywhere downtown without leaving the warmth of the Skyway. You do need to plan your route to be sure your destination is close to on of the passages but for sure, one of Minneapolis' best... More

Minneapolis built the first skyway system back in the 1960's and they have perfected the art! You can go nearly anywhere downtown today and stay indoors! Nice with the winters here!

The Skyway reminded me very much of the Underground City in Montreal, only inverted. Tons of stores, and eateries inside. Directional signage would serve the public more if it was upgraded. We did not even know about it until it was brought to our attention by the concierge at our hotel. The city should take up the marketing of this... More

We also ventured across the street to the Loews Hotel and it was nice not to have go outside. We were very happy for that.

The Minneapolis Skyway System is a genius way to get around this busy city!. The weather can be pretty brutal in the winter, so having the skyway to get to restaurants, hotels, shops and businesses is wonderful.
