I'm so happy that the city decided to implement such a great idea for the commuters, travelers and visitors to the city. The winters can be quite cold and walking in a tunnel above traffic and the snow piles is a great respite. Every cold weather city should have something like this. The signage and directions are easy to follow... More

My young children enjoyed the view and power they felt towering over cars on the streets below. Probably a God-send in the winter but fun to try in the summer, as well.

The Minneapolis skyway system networks the second (and in one case, third) floor of skyscrapers dotted throughout the downtown. This is great when you are staying in an area hotel and is extremely useful to the thousands of corporate employees that work downtown, as they can leave their coats in the highway while seeking lunch in one of the many... Though our visit to Minneapolis was in June, and the weather was for the most part great - this 7 mile tunnel in the sky was very impressive - particularly as the winters here are, apparently, very severe. On our last afternoon, we were on Nicolette Mall and it started to rain - no drama - simply found the nearest... More

The importance of skyway system is felt intensely during winter. To date, there could be no better alternative to the skyway system to travel around downtown Minneapolis without freezing in winter.

Crikey................we thought living inside was a futuristic thing but Minneapolis Skyway System caught us by surprise....it is fabtastic to walk around the City inside. Apparently Winter is soooo cold that going out is a no no.! One can walk thru office blocks banks and shopping Malls all around this lovely City. It was roasting when we were there and there... More

The skyway system in Minneapolis is second to none. There is no better way to get around, during the winter months! Plenty of places to eat and get a coffee (or even shop) along the way! Highly recommended.

Just kidding. You can't go everywhere through the skyway, but you can get around pretty well. It's a life-saver on those bitterly cold days when the thought of going outside makes you want to die. Tons of cafes and coffee places, some retail, even a weird museum. The downside is that has limited hours during the weekend, and once you... More

The Minneapolis skyway system is a nice way to get to see the entire Minneapolis downtown area while staying warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The skyway system is open early and stays open late and covers most of the city, although if you lack a strong sense of direction it can be difficult to navigate. Without... More

This is a great way to get around. Especially in sketchy parts of downtown. It would be much better if your skyway map included times that certain portions shut down. We stayed at a hotel at the end of the sky way and could only make it half way back at the end of the night due sections being shut... More
