Do this by bike, as much as you can. Slow pace allows one to see the differences between the lakes and neighborhoods. If not, drive slowly and enjoy the beauty and green of Minneapolis. All this is possible because of visionaries who saved the beauty of the lakes and the parks of Minneapolis for the access of everyone. What a... More

Love this route for a casual ride. Iconic Minneapolis! Fairly well marked but bring a trail map with you.

Excellent way to see the city. We try to do it at least once a summer. Can rent bikes in the city or we just bring our own. Lunch in the Lake Calhoun area is always great.

Love driving around the Ground rounds. Lots of beautiful lakes and the one of a kind mansion homes along them to see! Fun to bike as well! Great biking!

It is a beautiful ride and well maintained. It is annoying to find walkers on the bike trail when they have their own designated pathway. I also would avoid it on peak times during the summer weekends.

So far we've done this route from Lake Calhoun to Minnehaha Falls. Lived here for 48 years and regrettably we just discovered this gem. Great example of urban parkland for the purpose of cycling and walking. Can't wait to see the rest it.

This can be done by car, on foot or by bike. The grand rounds is a truly unique treasure in Minneapolis. You can circle all the downtown lakes, continue along Minnehaha Creek/Parkway to Lake Nakomis. The nature of the lakes and creek are great, and the beautiful homes along the route just add to the experience. Weekends are especially busy... More

The lakes to the falls and down the river are my favorite parts and wonderful to have this trail laid out. Interesting to see the amount of nature and park we have int he city. Plan a day and bring some money for great places along the way for lunch.

Investment by Hennepin County and Minneapolis in 2011 resulted in re-dedication of the Victory Memorial Parkway that memorialized 768 Hennepin County casualties of WWI. From Wirth Parkway north along tree lined grassy boulevard, check out the flagpole and Abraham Lincoln statue around 44th Avenue North. Black granite benches provide a nice picnic spot in warm weather. Parking spots nearby for... More

we drove along the byway to go to the scenic points such as Minnehaha park, chains of lakes, can see a short part of the river. I think cycling along the byway is better than driving a car.
