Of all the parks in MPLS, this is one of the better ones. With a small body of water in the middle of this park, its a nice place to walk around. A stroll through or around this park should take less than an hour. If you find youself here, take the footbridge over the highway at the West end... More

Loring Park is located just across the pedestrian bridge from the Sculpture Garden and offers a tree-covered respite from the urban heat of Minneapolis. There are nice pathways, a large pond, a cute dandelion shaped fountain, basketball, horseshoe and shuffleboard courts, plenty of grass for picnics, and it isn't crowded at all. We cut through the park to explore the... More

This was a cut through from Nicolette mall beside the Hyatt to the Sculpture Garden. Absolutely the most beautiful flowers and landscaping. Such a great leisurely walk.

Loring Park makes a nice, warm summer day, relaxing visit for those who like inner city parks with ponds, wildlife, (Birds, Ducks, Geese, Squirrels etc.) and cool benches in the shade with pretty views. I only rated it a 4 because if you only have a short time in town there might be better things to do with your time.... More

Loring Park is near downtown Minneapolis and next to the Walker Art Center. Nice paths with sculptured art along the way and areas to have a picnic lunch if you want. Two areas separated by Hwy 94 but a pedestrian bridge connects them. Art work can be seen throughout. There are basketball courts, playgrounds and a swimming pool to enjoy... More

Loring park is great and never very crowded. It has gardens, walkways, green space, and towering oak trees (a small playground too). There is a duck pond and a 2 small playgrounds too. Yes, the squirrels are overly friendly and greedy but they add to the charm. There is even an albino squirrel. There are 2 nice cafes and a restaurant... More

Spent Sunday afternoon at Loring Park for the Gay Pride Festival. Visited with lots of friends. Saw the jubilation over passing the marriage for all people.

After visiting the sculpture garden, I took the pedestrian bridge across I-94 to this park. It is a smaller park but there is still a good opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The gardens are pretty and there were plenty of birds to watch. Worth the walk across the bridge.

I was not fortunate to see the Sculptured Gardens but I saw an funny bird sign, a white squirrel and local man playing Godfather songs on the trumpet. Then, I was attacked by insects. That was my queue to be off and have dinner.

Probably many folks do as I did, and use Loring Park as a way to get to the sculpture garden. But it really appeared to be a destination of its own. You could watch the geese and ducks for a long time and not tire. And the flower garden is sweet.
