Probably many folks do as I did, and use Loring Park as a way to get to the sculpture garden. But it really appeared to be a destination of its own. You could watch the geese and ducks for a long time and not tire. And the flower garden is sweet.

We enjoyed our trip to the park. It is situated within walking distance of downtown. There are plenty of parks for children to play in, or, if you are like my child, to run and expend energy in. My only issue is that the grass was not well manicured, but for a free park, I cannot complain too much.

Loring park is small gem in the heart of Minneapolis. Too bad it;s surrounded by highways and downtown. And too bad, it's so small. It's a nice local hang out place where people come to take a little break, watch birds or play sports. It's truly a small oasis that has been badly damaged by heavy traffic and interstate highway... Situated near the Basilica, this park is convenient to the relaxation. We sit on a bench to picnic and stroll a little. The house of the gardener finds itself there.

Loring Park is located on the western edge of Downtown Minneapolis near the Basilica of Saint Mary. It is also next to the I-94 freeway so it is not the quietest Park in a city. It is an older park as the land was acquired and the park built around 1885. It is named in honor of the first president... More

This wonderful little park holds a special place for us. Shortly after we were married and moved to the cities, we went to this park to eat some corn nuts and relax. Before long, we found ourselves surrounded by squirrels and we ended up feeding them the corn nuts during the rest of time there. In so doing, we found... More

This is a lovely gem of a park just a short walk from the main downtown area. A beautiful small lake to walk around (and fish in, if you are so inclined), big trees, lots of benches in shade or sun as desired, meandering walkways, and a gorgeous perennial garden. There is some noise from the freeway, but the park... More

Beautiful park with walkways and flowers everywhere. We didn't come across any homeless people as mentioned in other reviews, just walkers, bikers and people enjoying the grounds. If you stop here, make sure you cross the bridge over the street to go to the Sculpture Gardens where the large spoon and cherry is. Highly recommend both parks!

Loring Park is nice get away park within walking distance of downtown. My visit did not include any of the homeless or street noise another reviewer mentioned. I did see families, bike riders and some folks sunning in the grass. There is a nice lake and plenty of benches. It is also directly across the highway from the Walker Art... More
