Yeah your feet are going to stick to the dance floor on occasion and don't lean too far over that second floor balcony because the railing is pretty low. You need to go to the bathroom? Head upstairs and its a trough for the guys and based on my better half's assessment the ladies are "tolerable". And that's just fine.... More

First off, understand that First Ave is historically a great music venue where loyal patrons abound. And I absolutely adore Jeremy Messersmith. However, many of us agreed that his most recent warm-up band was AWFUL--even the sound booth dude appeared concerned. (We had the same experience at Lykke Li & a few other concerts this year). Nonetheless (and quite randomly),... More

I've been to First Avenue in the past for concerts but seeing the band Interpol here, I hate to say, was somewhat of a disappointment. I'm always surprised at how low the guardrail is on the second level at the stairway by the upstairs bar, someone will eventually tumble over that and they'll have to bring it up to code,... More

First avenue was a perfect set up for an enjoyable concert setting everyone could see the stage really well the speakers still made you deaf but no errors. The place is very clean but drinks are very expensive but that is expected. I will definitely return for future concerts held there. They also have outside heaters for when your standing... More

We rocked out to a Tom Petty cover band. Super meat establishment. Outdated everything but has history and great ambiance. We mostly stayed in the main section but did check out the other smaller stages in the complex. We enjoyed all but the techno thing...only bc it was not out thing but the other ppl seemed to be enjoying it.

The legendary venue where Prince filmed Purple Rain. It's a fantastic large scale venue that also puts on dj nights and other shows. Great location downtown and also the smaller venue, 7th Street Entry is great so small packed sweaty punk shows!

I went to see Old Man Canyon perform at 7th Street Entry, part of First Avenue. The room is intimate in the perfect way to really absorb a performance. The sound was excellent!

Oh the hours and dollars I have spent in this Minneapolis institution. We went on Friday night for the Bowie tribute/cat fundraiser (amazing). It definitely is "broken in" but I like it that way. The beers are overpriced but I will allow it. Hit the Depot before or after and it is a little cheaper. We found a street spot... More

Nervous and scared after reading these reviews. Wondering if we made a mistake. My 2-18 year old daughters just had to see The 1975.... I willl give an update tomorrow.

Probably the best venue for up close and personal concerts in Minneapolis. I've had the chance to see a number of concerts here. From the door staff to security the place is run well.
