Rockin at the place where rock started.

Ok, the place is not perfect. But nothing is! So get over it. First Avenue wails! Just had a great time rockin to Six Mile Grove, then the Gear Daddies. Stood on the rail... read more

I took my teenage daughter to see an all ages show. It's a fantastic venue because the sound is spectacular and the sight lines unbelievably good. She was on the floor the whole time, and I walked around and got great views from many spots upstairs and downstairs. I felt that she was safe, and the entrance to the bar... More

Went here on a Fri in May to see a band. It was a little difficult to get here due to a Twins game that night, but there is parking right across the street. The venue has a bar area upstairs and getting a drink was never an issue (credit cards accepted). We used the coat check too ($3 I... More

A friend and I spent well over $200 on tickets and travel expenses, only to be denied entrance, treated rudely, and left to stand outside in the cold. We are in the midst of taking legal action, to get all our money back but I really wish I would not have even bought tickets in the first place. I have... More

We went to a concert here and had a good experience. The place was packed but that's to be expected. We really had no issues with getting a drink or using the restroom. We enjoyed looking at the history of the place with all the bands that had played there in the past. The band was a younger band so... More

7th Street Entry was not a great place to take in a show because it was SO packed. Can't be legal to let that many people in. I haven't been to the Mainroom at First Ave before so maybe that is better? Will definitely not come to this venue again & would only do so & enjoy myself if I... More

Yeah your feet are going to stick to the dance floor on occasion and don't lean too far over that second floor balcony because the railing is pretty low. You need to go to the bathroom? Head upstairs and its a trough for the guys and based on my better half's assessment the ladies are "tolerable". And that's just fine.... More

First off, understand that First Ave is historically a great music venue where loyal patrons abound. And I absolutely adore Jeremy Messersmith. However, many of us agreed that his most recent warm-up band was AWFUL--even the sound booth dude appeared concerned. (We had the same experience at Lykke Li & a few other concerts this year). Nonetheless (and quite randomly),... More

I've been to First Avenue in the past for concerts but seeing the band Interpol here, I hate to say, was somewhat of a disappointment. I'm always surprised at how low the guardrail is on the second level at the stairway by the upstairs bar, someone will eventually tumble over that and they'll have to bring it up to code,... More
