Quiet and great for biking/running

Bike track around the lake was great. Liked the fact that they were one way and seperate for pedestrains and bikers. Wish the lake had restrooms.

We went to go SUP but found it difficult to find the place to rent. Be sure you know where to go before you get there. Parking is difficult, we went mid-day, go early!!

Great place to go with friends to swim, rent SUPs, canoes, bikes. Definitely bike around the lake if you can or go for a run - the trails are EXCELLENT. Calhoun is right near Uptown - each at a rooftop cafe, go to Corepower yoga and head over to one of the many lake beaches to people watch and sun... More

Great place to bike around, walk/run around/ or take the kids to the beach. We biked around this lake and the one to the north of it for a loop around 8 miles I think. Also took my wife's cousins down to small beach, which was fun. Full of kids.

Nice afternoon trip out of the city. Walked around the lake. Love that they have separate paths for walkers and bikers so each could do their own thing. Stopped at the Tin Fish to escape the rain and had some fried fish.

Not many modern cities can claim that they have a piece of nature in their heart. The chain of lakes (Harriett, Isles and Calhoun) in Minneapolis is one of those special places. Whether going for a simple walk, alone or with a friend, or renting a stand-up paddle board, or playing beach volleyball, there is always something for everyone. I... More

I had scoped this particular lake out in planning this trip to Minneapolis with my son. Neither of us had been kayaking before so we were going to rent one here from Wheel Fun Rentals for $12/hr. and try it for the first time. Pedal boats are $20/hr. and paddle boards $18/hr. The plan was to find and park near... More

We were visiting the Twin Cities and had planned to spend the whole day at the zoo when the summer weather surprised is- temps in the 90s made a great excuse to find a beach instead. Our hotel recommended Lake Calhoun and we were very pleased. Clean beach, views of sail boats and downtown. There were two pre-schoolers in our... More

I am sort of an expert on this lake having grown up on it in the late 40's and early 50's, and sharing a couple of homes on Lake street in the 70's before moving west. It has several neat beaches north, south and east and wonderull bike and walking paths (one of each) going around the lake. Sailing, canoeing... More
