This is a very nice lake to walk, run, skate, bike, or take your dog to. I personally love the little fish restaurant stand in the summer. I can't wait until it's warm out so I can have a picnic. I never visit the lake in the winter though, it just seems more of a place to hang out in... More

Love coming to Lake Calhoun for a walk or run. Has the prettiest views of the skyline over the lake. On a nice day, there are TONS of people around, so heads up. Also a great place to bike or walk to as there isn't a ton of parking nearby.

It's a beautiful day, don't like the prospects in your fridge... Stop by Chipolte or Wholefoods grocery for a takeout picnic around lake Calhoun and a nice view of downtown. Best to bring your own blanket as the picnic tables are limited. If you have more time for summer fun, rent a kayak and enjoy exploring the chain of lakes.... More

A must see in Minneapolis, it was freezing but there were still people walking on the lake, playing with their dogs, running etc. Was great to walk around the lake for a few mins, really a pretty and calm place to visit

Really enjoy visiting Lake Calhoun. There is lots to do both on and off the water. Walking/biking/skating/running paths offer a chance to get moving on land. Make it a casual stroll with the family or go all out for proper run. On there water there are kayaks, standup paddleboards, sailing, fishing, and swimming. There is also a spot to grab... More

Lake Calhoun has it all, nearly 100 feet deep this is not a little city pond but a beautiful natural lake with beaches, hiking, and bike trails. It connects with Cedar Lake, Lake Harriet, and Lake of the Isles through a networks of trails. Beautiful natural experience in the city.

Lake Calhoun is located in a beautiful area with fantastic homes surrounding. Tine Fish is located right on the Walking path and the food is delicious. Great place in the summer for lunch or watching the sunset.

They rent a lot of activities that you can do. I chose the water board and never have done that, but did ok. I chose to go through a canal to Lake of the Isle, and had fun in this area of the lake. Then back to Lake Calhoun and the brought my water board back, and the people were... More

This lake is a real urban spot. You can people watch or exercise or just relax and picnic here. In the winter, it is a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors.

The trails here and great to run on during any season. In the warm months there is both a bike trail and pedestrian trail, and when there is snow they plow the bike trail for both runners and cyclists. Easy access to other lakes and trails make this a very popular running spot, and great location for long runs.
