Always travel this way.

$1.75 can't beat the price. Since we discovered the train they're is no better way. Yes the us a little walking but the ride itself is pleasant

Traveling solo, I prefer to use the public transportation systems of places or cities I visit. They are cheaper and faster than taxis or shuttle services. Here are some things I learned using the Hiawatha Line/Light Rail for 3 days: 1. Map - get this FREE map at the information Desk at the airport or from the Front Desk of... More

I always use this service to travel to MOA from downtown and back and also to go to Airport as it goes right below the Airport entrance. The frequency is good and the timing is disciplined. Costs $1.75 for a trip and valid for 90mins and it's $2.25 during peak hours. You can also use this service to reach Minehaha... More

Best way to get from the Mall Of America to downtown Minneapolis. It's inexpensive and easy to use. A real thrill for young kids of all ages.

Has to be the best way to get to the airport, warehouse district, and ballpark from south of the city. Free parking at the stations, discounted 6 hour tickets for events, discounted family passes, and bikes are allowed. Easy to keep track once on board with posted maps. No restrooms on board, and did not see any at our station,... More

A friend I recently flew into Milwaukee as we had booked the tickets several months ago. Our plans changed when the friend we were going to see was nursing a sick husband. Having already paid for our airline tickets we decided to find the best way to Chicago. We were thrilled,to find out that the Amtrack train station was next... More

Depending on where your staying the light rail is an absolute blessing. It connects downtown (all the way to Target Field) to Mall of America with stops at the Airport and Minnehaha Park on the way. Beginning to end it takes about 30 minutes. The train stops directly across the street from Minnehaha Park. It's a nice walk to see... More

I know light rail is a good idea (it would be a great idea if we didn't concurrently burn billions widening highways to make the light rail less necessary) and an okay deal given you can get to and on it with a generously-timed bus transfer. BUT the few times we needed it the most to avoid everything big thinkers... More

I found out this line ran from the airport to downtown. The honor system is in effect as no one collected my ticket. It gave me a chance to see the outlying areas and I even saw the Viking stadium. I never knew that Viking had a name!

My husband and just got back from spending a weekend in Minneapolis. We used Hiawatha Like, aka, "Blue Line" and Light Rail" many times. It runs from the Airport to Target Field. We used it to and from the Airport and to Mall of America since our hotel was near Target Field. It was very convenient and reasonably priced. Just... More
