the lakes are more of less similar, but Lake Harriet has a beautiful house, a place for concert, wedding, etc. also has some snacks and drinks can be bought. lake Harriet and Calhoun is more crowed, I like lake of Islets which is more quiet and the view is good.

Love the chain of lakes, spend a lot of time here in the summer. Each lake has its own personality. Plan to jog, walk, blade, or bike around as many as time allows. After work and weekends are prime time.

Please bring your bike and take a tour around each of the lakes in Minneapolis. Enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful neighborhoods as you travel the trails. The lakes are very popular with bikers, rollerbladers and walkers. The trails are safe and are not too difficult. Once you have completed your biking you then could canoe, sail, kayak and other... I loved the Chain of Lakes-- and all the lakes in Minneapolis really. Who knew! Everything was so beautiful and easily accessible and the paths and houses around the lakes were beautiful. Something to see in Minneapolis for sure.

Lakes Calhoun, Harrier, Cedar and Lake of the Isles are a nice place to spend a day or a part of a day in Minneapolis. They are a bit of an urban park. One can often see many joggers, runners, walkers and cyclists going around the lakes. Lake Calhoun is the noisiest, the most crowded and the kitschiest so it's... More

I biked around the lakes (and over to the Mississippi and downtown) one sunny Saturday afternoon. The bike paths are well signed and organised. You can also roller blade or even walk! Something to discover around every bend. I highly recommend on a fine day.

Absolutely beautiful. I bike this several times each season. Both the lakes and the surrounding homes are beautiful.

Bike, hike, roller blade, drive, you name it. Lakes are all connected with parkways - wheeled and pedestrian. Miles and miles hardly describes it. Lots of great houses to see, parks to play, etc.
