Lakeside trail goes around the lake, for running, walking, and biking. Beautiful setting with trees and park areas. Across the street are beautiful (mostly) old homes with great architecture. Nice area to drive around, too.

I didn't really know or understand what this was when we visited Minneapolis even though it's the 2nd most visited site in the whole state of Minnesota after the Mall of America. This rich, beautiful part of Minneapolis is one of It's districts and is comprised of a series of parks with some of the largest lakes in the state.... More

Beautiful lakes right in the heart of the city. Outdoor amphitheater had orchestras playing and bikers were riding around, families everywhere eating ice cream, really clean. So much fun!

If you are visiting Minneapolis, you must plan some time to enjoy the lakes inside the city of Minneapolis. They have separate trails for walking and wheels (bikes, skaters, runners with strollers). Most are one directional for the wheels so they don't feel as congested as some other cities I've visited. Lots of green space to have a picnic in... More

Great trails and scenic. Go to relax and enjoy the day. Converse with a good friend as you get your exercise in.

A must see if visiting Minnesota. I walk around all of the lakes every time I am in town. There are both walking and bike trails. A great place for families. Lots of parks and playgrounds. Children love feeding the ducks. Great place to exercise and get a tan as well. It only takes a few hours to walk around... More

Few other cities have lakes throughout the city like Minneapolis. Rant a kayak or a canoe on Lake Calhoun and paddle under the bridge to the other lakes in the rain of lakes. Beautiful. Quiet. Urban. Forested. Skyscape. All right there. It's lovely.

Good lakes. Cool houses. A nice drive. We stopped to lay out in the beach in Lake Harriett. Lake Calhoun has the nice Marina with all of the water activity rentals.

Ice cream on the North east side and candoe rental. Close to the city and there are bike trails linking all the lakes.
