Description: THE GUTHRIE THEATER is an American center for theater performance...
THE GUTHRIE THEATER is an American center for theater performance, production, education and professional training, known for its dynamic productions of classic and contemporary plays. Open to the public year-round, this award-winning cultural destination houses three theaters, dramatic public spaces and distinctive dining. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, the Guthrie is located in the historic Mill District of Downtown Minneapolis and features a 175-foot cantilever bridge which overlooks the Mississippi River. When it opened in 2006 Time magazine called the building "a 21st century dream factory." Visit the Guthrie to see a show, grab a cup of coffee and explore the building, shop at the Guthrie Store, or to simply take in the extraordinary riverfront views. Backstage tours are Friday and Saturday mornings.

Music Man alot of fun

The performance was very professional and easy to relate to. The songs were familiar, and the audience was invited to sing along on 76 Trombones. Easy to understand the plot.

Very modern looking building. Beautiful view out the back, overlooking the river & bridges. Would like to come back to see a play here.

Excellent theatre - with the exchange of tickets made available, now it is easier to buy ahead, adjusting for travel or other interruptions in scheduling.

We stopped by the Guthrie on our way to a pre wedding family dinner Saturday evening. The facility is gorgeous and the views of the Mississippi River and downtown are amazing. We have been there before for a play, but are so glad we shared the experience with others. We will make it a regular stop whenever we are visiting... More

The Guthrie puts on great performances, but unfortunately, it is not handicap friendly. Went with my grandma, who has a walker, but couldn't get to our aisle seats four rows down because there was no railing acceptable for a physically-impaired person to use. Could not get handicap seating when trying to buy tickets, because there are only 14 handicap seats... More

Nice performance of an old musical. The place was full given a matinee. Actors gave a very good performance. The building is beautiful but navigating your way to find your seat is a challenge. Signage is terrible.cut your losses and ask for help, it's far from intuitive and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Took a one hour tour of this wonderful architectural space. Tour Guide was terrific. Backstage was very interesting- we come from New York and are used to Broadway, but this theater is unique and bigger than Broadway given the backstage facilities available. This is a must see tour. ( Note that you can get tickets for performances any day on... More

Nicely kept downtown venue for live theater. There are large, clean restrooms, a snack bar, and a 4 story escalator that lewds out to a terrace that overlooks the Mississippi River .
