If you love live theater and you are in the Twin Cities area you should be sure and check out the Guthrie. We have attended playes presented in both theaters and each has its own strengths. The thrust stage recently had a British all male cast put on a lively play by Shakespeare, "Twelfth Night". We all enjoyed it immensely,... More

First time to the Guthrie and the view over the river is spectacular and great facility. the review is more about the dining and the show its self. I felt the menu was unique but fairly over priced and the oysters were very small. The waiter was over the top nice and did a great job. The show was called... More

We came here over the weekend for a private corporate event. we had excellent drink service- there was only one bartender for 20 of us and he did an outstanding job. The artichoke dip and salsa were delicious while the passed appetizers were so so. We went upstairs and checked out the gorgeous view. Would definitely be back here again

We'd never have entered the building otherwise. Some kind of reception was going on. Didn't look like an event welcoming the public. But having read reviews, we walked in, took the escalator and went to the observation area for that fabulous view of the Mississippi, the falls and bridge. All for free. Fifteen minutes was enough, but very worth the... More

Fun and interactive. Stunning archeturee...in one of first flour mills in city - with great vistas of the River. Close to everything in downtown Mpls. Don't miss a stop to the Gurthrie Theatre next door. In warmer weather, you MUST take a walk accross the Stone Arch Bridge, and view the At. Anthony fall Dam (original power source for grinding... A friend and I saw a production of the Sunshine Boys on the Wurtele Thrust stage. At intermission my friend and I turned to each other and simultaneously offered to sit out in the lobby for the second act if the other wanted to stay to finish the play. The only thing worse than the production was the seating. They... More

The Guthrie is an attractive and welcoming theater to see live productions at. I flew all the way from Las Vegas to Minneapolis just to see Twelfth Night and The Taming of the Shrew at The Guthrie -- and I was not disappointed. The staff were courteous and friendly -- to a T; the seating areas were clean and comfortable... More

Fabulous architecture, including the views from the bridge to nowhere, with lots to explore before and after the plays. We saw Twelfth Night and Taming of the Shrew, two great productions from the English Propellor All Male Shakespeare Company - Shakespeare as it was originally performed and a wonderful experience. Worth a look even if you aren't going to see... More

We walked along the river one afternoon with the intent to see the building based solely on the modern architecture. When we got there, we were surprised that it was opened. While in the lobby, my son noticed the really long escalator. For us, that's a good enough reason to explore further. The escalator takes you up to the fantastic... More

An escalator within a maze with a nice view of the Stone Arch Bridge and the Mississippi River. If you walk outside, the view is great. If you look thru the side windows, they are too small. The decor is cold, the people are gray, but then, hey, it's Minnesota. If you are expecting classic architecture, try New York, San... More
