I love downtown Mpls but it appears to be the spot for the homeless and sketchy to hang out during the day. I have been many times so am not as intimidated as others might be. It is a shame that they aren't moving the homeless to shelters (and getting them help). We saw so many with signs begging for... More

Very pedestrian friendly, lots of rational bike riders, the kind that usually stop at stop lights. Very civilized and well maintained. Area kept clean to an inch of its life. Design shows functional logic and looks great. More

The mall can be accessed indoors by covered bridges linking hotels and buildings around the area. Anchor stores are Target, Macy's and the Gap with smaller shops in between. Restaurants run from steak houses to Mexican fare. Most restaurants offer outside seating. More

Lots of awesome outdoor malls and shopping/restaurant areas in the US. But, this one is in the downtown district of a major US city. This blows away Denver's 16th Street Mall. Lot of restaurants and outdoor seating. The Local and Brits are the best of the bunch. Period. More

First of all, it's important to note that Nicollet "Mall" it is not a mall n the suburban-types-go-shopping sense; it's more a mall in the "huge shopping/business district" sense. What Nicollet Mall Is: *An 80-square-block area of downtown that includes upscale chain stores (If you like designer labels, you'll be in heaven!), a busy corporate environment, plenty of fantastic architecture,... Especially in the summer time when the sidewalks are full of flowers and produce for sale. Love that cars cannot drive on it. More
