Over the past few years, I have been to this area several times now, and I see more each time of what I'd rather not see. More and more homeless people walking around or sleeping, more and more people who may indeed me harmless but do look like people I would assume are up to no good, more and more... More

There a a couple of things needed here to make this a better shopping experience. 1) more stores - many have apparently closed down. .. and 2) public restrooms- the ones we could find required an "access card". This place is OK, but I wouldn't choose to go back. What IS there caters to those who work downtown. If you... More

We booked the Westin for our Minneapolis weekend, close to the light rail and Nicollet Mall. However, the "Mall" is not all it is made to be. Yes, they have a Macy's, Saks of 5th, etc., but so what? Not the best selection of stores. The restaurants were OK, street side is fun for some people watching. We liked the... More

Enjoyed great restaurants and convenient shopping while in Minneapolis for a conference. Love the sidewalk cafés and restaurant/pubs open late. Great weather in May! Free bus takes you to the train with easy access to airport and Mall of America.

Stores are in small buildings connected by the skyway. Limited amount of stores. Not one that I will intentionally go visit. Just happen to be in the area. A great way to stroll in downtown Minneapolis in a freezing, cold day.

We took the light rail downtown to walk this outdoor mall. Saw the flagship Target and had Caribou coffee. Not much to see, in my opinion. We also went in November so warmer mouths may be better. The free shuttle is nice.

If you are not "fluent" in getting around the skyway it will be difficult to get around. There are several nice stores and is very clean. The locals were surprisingly helpful and friendly.

A lot of boutiques close to the hôtel with everything you need. Restaurants on the boardwalk and free bus line were very appreciated.

It was a neat experience. I was a bit disappointed with the actual store/shopping, but theres no lack of places to grab a bite to eat or a beer. It's one of those places that you are glad you visited once but likely won't go back (unless you find a really good place to eat). If you are short on... More

We visited the Nicollet Mall and there were many storefronts that were closed. As we walked further down the mall, we did go to Macy's, which was huge and had a good shopping experience there. We then ate at one of the restaurants, went to Walgreen's, and were done in about 2.5 hours. Not many people there on a Saturday.
