Mary Tyler Moore statue is gone (due to construction)

Major road, sidewalk construction in this area. Free bus does not work. Beware of stones/uneven sidewalks.

"The Mall" is undergoing a much needed facelift. It is a great part of downtown Minneapolis. It has a lot of shops and restaurants along it's length. Many of the restaurants have outside seating, great is summer and excellent for people watching. I wish that the redesign would get the buses off of the mall. Who wants to watch busses... More

Panhandlers/beggers out side the stores and restaurants. Didn't feel safe or make an enjoyable experience. Panera locks the bathrooms so only patrons can use them and I can see why.

A convenient strip of restaurants and retail in downtown Minneapolis. No better or no worse than similar malls in other cities. If you're staying in the city, it's a good place to look for a bite to eat or drinks. Fairly safe and clean.

There's no big enclosed building that you might be expecting to find here. This is a different kind of mall. Created back in 1968 and the first in the U.S., this is a transit mall for public transportation vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles to use. Normal cars and trucks are not allowed. It's an area of the city along Nicollet Avenue... More

While walking at the downtown areas, I asked where the Nicollet Mall was. The woman replied, "you're at it". Due to some constructions going on in the area and because I thought this mall would be an enclosed big mall, I was surprised to learn this. Since shopping is not in my List to Do in Minneapolis, I just did... More

I traveled to Minneapolis July 23-26. Nicollet Mall was one of the places I had wanted to see on my trip. Let's just say I was kind of shocked. There were unsavory kids hanging out, and we even witnessed the end of a fight; there was a large crowd of kids yelling and moving up the street. This prompted us... More

Nicollet Mall is a great place to visit! It is a lovely street lined with cafes, with on street dining for people watching. The surrounding architecture is beautiful. The light rail station is located here, so you can visit without worrying about dealing wth parking.
