The University of Minnesota is unique in that it is one of the largest universities in the United States and at the same time is located in a major metropolitan area. It is just a stone's throw from downtown Minneapolis. If you're visiting the U of M, a must see is Northrup Mall. At the south end of the mall... More

This is a fun campus to visit. They do a wonderful job with landscaping. Cross over the bridge from the two sides of the campus and check out the "shoe tree." Also visit the free museum, designed by the famous architect, Frank Gehry. In summers there are free music concerts. The Wilson Library on West Bank has just about every... More

It was the best four years of my life! I really enjoyed watching the Gopher football games and other sports especially basketball and baseball. The Target Center is nearby as Downtown Minneapolis is only a kilometer away. Really love the libraries on campus (there are 17 of these libraries). The recreation centers in Minneapolis and St.Paul are also wonderful!

The main campus of the U of M system is sprawling. Large enough that they have rental bikes and a bus system. I visited during the Summer for a conference and found it perfect for walking--wear good shoes. The bookstore, library and overall campus was lovely. People were also very friendly.

Going to the U was the best decision I could have made. There was plenty to do on campus and enjoyable to kill free time. It is also very bike friendly. The St. paul campus is serene and very pretty so you should def take some time to get over there as well. It was nice being close to downtown... More

This university has a lovely campus - lots of trees & green space. Its most distinguishing feature for me is that it has the only Chick fil A within many miles. All others are out of town off beltways & in the suburbs !!

Two of my children have graduated from the U of M. I love visiting them on campus, it is so historic and well kept. The energy from the students is an extra plus!

A good drive through experience unless the football game is about to start in which case it's best to avoid the area.

Went on campus via the Light-Rail from downtown. Very nice and clean campus, great day for football and to walk around campus on a crisp fall morning.
