Recently moved to Uptown from the East Coast. Partner and I picked area because it feels safe and the most complete in terms of a "real urban neighborhood" with everything nearby. And it is still getting denser with more luxury apartment buildings being built. Definitely the place to live in or to be in if in Minneapolis.

The Uptown areas is a popular hang-out spot in Minneapolis. It's almost always over-crowded and driving and finding parking around there is a nightmare. Sadly, over the last few years it's become a playground for Yuppies and suburbanites. It's a pity that such a part of the town has become nothing else but a jock ground zero of the Twin... More

You can find just about anything in this area, from high-end boutiques to quirky little bead shops. There are many places to eat in the area, but Famous Dave's in Calhoun Square is amazing - nothing like their take-out restaurants. They have live music most nights. Also check out Chino Latino or Stella's Fish Cafe for dinner.

Uptown is a an all around fun area, with a diverse mix of people, restaurants, nightlife and shops. This is where you find a lot of Minnesota's chicest people. From classy, artsy Chino Latino to Stella's rooftop to the chain of lakes and Chain Mai Thai, you will find yourself with lots to do. Parking is tough, so plan ahead... More

Uptown is a great area in Minneapolis to find wonderful places to eat, and great shops and theaters. Several restaurants have outdoor seating (either patio or rooftop) where you can enjoy good food and people watching on a nice day/evening. Parking can be kind of a pain around here, and driving in general can be challenging so leave plenty of... More

If you're something of a foodie who thinks great people watching can enhance the experience then welcome to a spot I love to visit called Uptown. You have options that begin with BBQ and end with fusion inspired places such as Bar Abilene and Chino Latino. Granted parking is always as such any popular place a most trying issue as... More

A somewhat artsy enclave at the edge of the metro; funky, ethnic mix but not really far-out for whitebread Minnesota. Has an annual Art Fair that fills the streets.

Uptown is an odd mix of hipsters, rural MN people gawking as if they are tourists, and also stuck up late 20s early 30s professionals. I hated living here. Too much traffic and hype and not much to offer for it. Shopping here is expensive unless you go to Heartbreaker store which I never did. A few bars that I... More

Whether you like to shop, eat, browse books, catch a movie, go bowling, or find a fabulous happy hour, this is the place for everyone. It is a young and trendy crowd, but it is a diverse area of Minneapolis and you won't be bored. In the summer it is very crowded, be warned that waits for roof-top decks and... More
