There are some great restaurants on Lake St, especially once it gets to Uptown and splits off to Lagoon Ave, but a large portion of it is in an underprivileged neighborhood. If you want to go to a restaurant on Lake, you'll want to look up reviews and a website before you head out. If the eatery is in Uptown,... More

The stores are run down, the sidewalks are undependable, and the crime rate is high here. Because of the low rents, ethnic restaurants locate here. Be careful after dark.

Getting on the buses here can be scary with the weird looking ppl that frequent the area. But nice food options starting from around Lyndale and Lake St. intersection to Midtown global market on Lake St. Hacienda near Autozone is descent.

There are two Lake Streets, one East of 35W, the other, tonier, is West. From Lyndale to France, with slight detours here and there, are a selection of eateries usually worth the few extra bucks for ambiance, wine lists and desserts. To the East it gets trickier but can be rewarding. The place to start on the sunrise side of... More

You can go to Lake St. and find just about anything you need. The last time I went there was to get some Mexican food...and it was awesome!

We lived near here many years ago. It has changed some over that time, but it is still where many nationalities call home. From the bridge over the Mississippi River to Lake Calhoun, you drive through several miles of busy, colorful and less expensive residential and business areas where you might want to keep your doors locked in the later... I have lived over 2 blocks from lake street. Grew up walking down it, riding the buses. The traffic is terrible. Pedstrians dont follow laws and jaywalk. There is a lot of crime in certain areas. Uptown is nice, anything west of that is to. But from Lyndale till it becomes marshall it is a mess, not that marshall is... More
