Great old fashioned theater. Reminds me of downtown theaters I went to in the late 50's early 60's as a kid. Do not miss.

If you are looking for an affordable movie night to see the latest movies a week or two out of the box office this is your place. Dropped right in one of the most charming areas in the Twin Cities you can make an easy night of it. This old theatre has so much charm and the prices are impossible... More

We walked from the train station which was about a 15-20 walk. So interesting to see and be in a theater from decades ago. Overheard one lady reminisce with her sister about watching Gone With the Wind for only a quarter there. Keep in mind where you sit, the space is so small for your legs, you cannot get up... More

Stadium seating from the old days, good prices for tickets and concessions. Great place to see a movie.

Went there because I read about $3 movie tickets for 1st run movies. Theatre itself was very nice inside. Very large seating area. Lower section seats very luxurious but seat leaned back too much and I could not get comfortable. Luckily the "upper" section had more upright seats - and also a steeper pitch so one is less likely to... More

Whatever you can rate, the Riverview comes out great. Staff is awesome, prices unbelievable (in a good way), screen size and chairs' comfort in a classic style, sound is state-of-the-art, they do special showings -debates, 48-hr film project, special sports events, late night cult stuff, etc.- for community, real butter on the delicious popcorn, AND THEY DRAW THE CURTAIN BEFORE... I love this old theater! $2 tickets, you can't beat it! Great pricing on food (a classic combo of medium popcorn and medium pop is only $5), great stadium seating and great staff. It's always clean here and I love the old charm of the place.

I've been going to the Riverview, off and on, for decades. It's one of the nicest theaters in the Twin Cities. There's a 1950s art deco design scheme with blonde wood that's really attractive. The seats, no matter where you sit, are extremely comfortable and the screen is just the right size. Tickets are reasonable prices for second-run features, and... More

This gem of a movie theater is in the Longfellow neighborhood. A throwback from the 40's, it is an amazing experience. The theater lobby has the feel and decor of the 40's, but the theater seating is all current and comfy. They show movies that have already made the rounds at the big theaters. And in the summertime they have... More
