This theater is a south Minneapolis institution showing recent movies at discounted prices. Unlike the "megaplex" theaters, this is old school with a nice BIG screen and comfortable seats. As a bonus, they often show very limited run and independent movies on special nights. Where else was I going to see Ministry's live concert movie "FIX"?!? Nowhere but at the... More

What a movie night used to be like - a couple hours of entertainment without the commitment of driving to the suburbs and spending $50+. Great employees, great food (especially the popcorn), low prices, and modern projection/sound equipment in a comfortable, stylish classic theater setting. A neighborhood and city-wide treasure.

Love the stadium seating, love the ticket sellers, and the concession people, super friendly, best made fresh popcorn with real butter! Love, the location, and the theatre makes me feel like I was a child again. Just good karma.

Just a few blocks from my husbands childhood home and full of character. We try to see a movie here when we can and love the charm of the theater.

Nice to be able to experience watching "Frozen" here. The price is so cheap! I wish we had a theatre like this in our neighborhood so I can go to the cinema every week. We were a bit confused where to park at first but found a good spot eventually. For a $3 night ticket, we were expecting that the... More

I'm very lucky to live by this neighborhood gem. It was built in the late 1940's, but there have been updates and it's a well kept up theater. There's only one screen, but they play different movies throughout the day. You can't beat the prices and the movies aren't that old. They also do special events, like the Tour de... More

Indeed this is a blast out of the 60's. This was my neighborhood movie theater growing up. I remember seeing Billy Jack there in the early 70's, back when it first came out, back when the theater was the only place to see a movie without commercial interruption. Others who grew up in this neighborhood will remember the drugstore called... More

Cheap movies ($3, $2 all day Tuesday) showing after the first-run theaters. It's huge, a hold-over from my youth. They have different movies at different times instead of being a multiplex. Very mid-20th century furnishings. My friend says they have the best buttered popcorn in the cities. They are a bit off the beaten path. A lot of their customers... More

During a girl's trip to the Twin Cities, had the rare opportunity to enjoy a special showing of the Oscar nominated short documentaries in this great old theatre. The prices are just right from tickets to refreshments. When you step into the theater you feel like you stepped back into the late 50's or 60's. All move buffs should enjoy... More

Theater is so pretty, prices are super reasonable and the movies they play are great second run movies. Very comfortable, parking tight though.
