Great art, beautiful building, amazing setup. I love the Frank painting and the Chinese section of the museum.

Wonderful art and very helpful staff. I found it easy to get lost but thankfully my husband has a good sense of direction. If you do get lost, there's staff somewhere nearby at all times (as far as I noticed). I liked the little gift shop too but a decent amount of items in there didn't seem to relate to... More

Amazing collections from all over the world! Strong Asian art sections. Spanning eras, variety of art forms, diverse theme areas, all free except special exhibits.

Nice variety of collection but lack attractive pieces in its permanent collection that make this place a tourist attraction. Its Chinese collection is quite interesting compared to other museum I visited. Other than that, not much memorable items.

The collection is superb...Van Gogh, Rodin, Rembrandt, Monet, Dali, Seurat...I could go on and on. And they have a Veiled Lady in the collection! And Armor! And Silver! And it's free! We paid $5 for parking in the garage, which is directly across the street. There are no negatives to seeing the MIA. Go!

Admission is free, donations appreciated. The Jade Mountain is something you must see, but then, so are the Chinese rooms, and the period rooms, and the Egyptian collection, and the paintings---so beautiful. This museum is just the right size---big enough to have a really great collection, not so big that seeing it all is impossible.

I prefer this museum over the Walker for a number of reasons. First of all, it's free. But more importantly, this museum features art from a greater variety of periods, medium and cultures. There is a lot of classic art, as well as contemporary, so you get the best of both worlds.

For this annual event local floral designers interpret works of art in flowers. It's always wonderful to see how differently people use colors, themes, lines to create in flowers a feeling they get from a painting or sculpture. There are always additional events that tie into the theme and it's very popular. Plan to attend in the early days so... More
