We saw the Italian Fashion Exhibit, which I enjoyed. It was fun to see designed from the past and some more recent designs. It didn't compare well with fashion exhibits Imhave seen at The Metropolitan Mseum of Art in Nyc, however. We enjoyed the art, especially the Impressionists like Renoir. There were many students there when we went and it... More

This arts complex displays its diverse collection in a setting that rivals DC, Chicago, New York, London, Berlin, or Paris. The old building, itself a work of art, was fortunately left mostly unspoiled by the "modern" wings added in the last part of the 20th Century. The Institute is a gratifying full- or multi- day visit for the arts aficionado.... More

The MIA has exceptional exhibits overall, but "Italian Style:Fashion Since 1945" is an exhibit that should not be missed. Takes one through Italian fashion from 1945 through 2014. It ends in mid-December, so make plans to see it. I visited this exhibit twice. Beyond this exhibit, the MIA offers innumerable opportunities to experience art from around the globe and through... A remarkable place! We always make it a must-see when entertaining foreign visitors. If you have a person in your party who usea a walker, they will check your walker for free and furnish you with an electric cart (also free). Great service and much appreciated. Nice restaurant and gift shop. Free admittance for all.

It has a fabulous collection on its own. Great guest exhibits also. Take the whole family. Great place for a date.

The Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) has many levels to explore. From period furniture, to modern art, to the many special exhibits, remember to give yourself plenty of time to wonder. The Jade collection is the one display I go see every time I visit this treasure in the middle of Minneapolis.

Ciao! Visit the Italian Fashion Exhibit and you'll soon be saying... Bellissima! The art institute put on a wonderful exhibit...as usual. We've been members of the institute about 20 years and keep coming back. They never fail...from the permanent collection to the fantastic shows. Enjoy!

There is nothing better than spending a day at the MIA. I love just picking a section and really looking at the beauty of the artworks, sculptors handwork, the installations of rooms that have been reasembled for us to feel like we were there. I appreciate the time the MIA takes in presenting touring exhibits that I would otherwise have... More

What a fun way to start 'black Friday' with a 6 am visit to the MIA to see the Italian Fashion Styles (there was NO admission fee at this early hour). Was warmly greeted by staff & invited to have coffee & cookies Next year I'll plan to linger longer to view the Christmas decorated 'period rooms' [As a person... More
