In my opinion the main attraction at this park is the waterfront. The water is clear and the area is very peaceful.

Excellent spot to watch the sunset on a beach. One of the few sandy beaches on Mille Lacs. Wish that the beach area had a changing house - pit toilets are fine for 'doing your business' but not what I want to change in. Hope to further explore the park in the future.

We took a day to drive around Lake Mille Lacs and decided to stop at Father Hennepin State Park. We drove around the park and found the dock and beach. There are many hiking trails around the park and visitors can easily walk the trails between the campground, dock, and beach. We saw several children riding bikes between the campground... More

Love the swimming beach! We also went to the I can fish program in June and the kids loved it. No need to have all the equipment, they provide it! Didn't catch anything but kids loved it. Can't wait to try one of their other programs!!!

We are so lucky to have great State Parks in Minnesota and this one is a gem. We went on the Hiking Club Trail, got a little lost in the campground, but made it all around. Had lunch in the picnic area. We were the only ones there on a Friday around 11:30.

Wonderful, clean, very close to town (Isle), spacious, fantastic beach, two fish piers, and a very nice boat landing. This place is perfect for a quick get away!

This is a great little park, which is particularly pretty in the fall! We aren't campers, but if we were, we'd love it here!

Almost no complaints!! Friendly DNR Staff. Terribly high wood prices, and the wood had trouble burning.

This was our first visit to Father Hennepin State Park, Wow, what a great camping area. The two campgrounds are quite different in character, the Lakeview Campground is very popular, open, airy and presents a wonderful view of the lake; the Maple Grove Campground is more "woodsy" with trails that wind through the trees and finally lead to the lake....
