We arrived just as a bear enrichment program was starting. The outside viewing deck provided a great view of the bears and the staff provided a nice history on each of the animals. Also really enjoyed the BBC video playing in the theater. Liked our experience here much better than at the Wolf Center.

A wonderful experience seeing the 4 bears...Ted, Lucky, Honey and Holly. We watched them be fed, play with each other and see how they figure out how to get food out of a toy! The center has a huge building that houses exhibits and videos about bears. I recommend taking the Behind the Scenes tour of the dens and the... More

The bear center is very well done. The center's focus is educating their visitors about bears through museum displays and informative staff. Beautiful photographs are displayed of bears and other wildlife. You can see the resident bears both indoors and outdoors. Try to be there during a feeding time to see them interact.

As nearby summer residents, we have visited the NABC at least once every year since it opened. I can easily spend two hours watching the bears eat and play and view the videos and exhibits. A terrific addition this summer is the enthusiastic narration by the intern who described what we were viewing from the deck and through the window... More

My husband and I have visited the NABC five times. Every trip we learn something new and see a new side of their rescued bears. The bear center has extensive displays, photography and videos as well as a "cubby" hands-on area for small children. The gift shop is a gold mine of great stuff! The NABC also tells the story... If you're anywhere near Ely, be sure to plan a visit to the North American Bear Center. You'll meet resident bears Ted, Lucky, Honey, and Holly and learn how they came to be at the center. There are many informative exhibits, articles, and videos to help you separate fact from fiction regarding wild black bears.

The NABC is a unique facility that holds a huge amount of information on black bears. It's by no means all education though, there are many fun things to learn about and lots of videos showing the intimate life of black bear families. The resident bears can be very lively and when I went, Lucky and Holly were playing together... More

Something for everyone. Very well done info on black bears and other animal inhabitants of the Northwoods. Resident bears are well kept. Their very large habitat lets visitors see them in a natural state.

Very educational. You only need to visit once. Save this great field trip for a rainy day. It is a little pricey for a large family. Worth it one time.

We drove by this attraction and decided to turn around and go back to see what they offered. It is a new facility that offers an view into the life of bears. Whether you agree with Dr. Rogers or not his knowledge of bears far exceeds what a lot of other know. The facility have something for all ages. There... More
