It always amazes me that I continue to learn about the North American Black Bear at each visit to the center. I take time to view once again several of the videos of Lily and Hope's life. I notice something different each time. The staff is so helpful at answering and directing me to the exhibits that will answer my... More

Not only can you enjoy seeing the ambassador bears in a beautiful natural environment, but you can learn everything about black bears. Three times a day there is an enrichment program where the expert volunteers feed the bears which you can watch either through the huge viewing window or from the outside deck. There are many videos of bears interacting... More

Bears cannot only be seen here, but the truth about black bears is revealed as you walk among the photos and mounts. There is a huge natural area with a large viewing window and tons of video screens to aide you.

I love the Bear Center. It's a place for kids, families, and adults of all ages. There are 60 videos, many that were made with wild bears in the Ely area, and a theater showing 2 - hour long BBC films about Ely black bears. Most importantly - 4 resident ambassador bears live in the 2.5 acres of forest. Ted,... More

The inside of the NABC surprises me each time I've visited. The majestic taxidermy displays and informative bases on which they stand are easy to walk around and learn something I never knew or had forgotten about each one. The multiple video displays of natural bear behavior keep me involved and glued to the televisions afraid I might miss something.... More

I loved visiting the NABC. I had been there once before in the winter time but then the bears were in hibernation. This time the bears were out and we could see and hear them! The exhibits and information were awesome! We learned so much and it's very child friendly and wheel chair accessible.
