My first trip to the Boundary Waters was such an enjoyable experience, much of that credit goes to the great beauty of northern Minnesota, but the Boundary Waters Guide Service (BWGS) added to that experience! I visited Ely with my studio class, which is made up of about 40 people ranging in camping and canoeing skills. With a group this... More

Amy guided us on a 7 day trip through the BWCA in late May. We had a great trip. Each day had new views, wildlife, fishing, hiking, or just enjoying the peace and quiet. The week started ad spring and ended as summer, with new greenery and flowers each day. Trip was fabulous!

I've wanted to go to the Boundary Waters since I heard about from an Explorer Scout brother many decades ago. My husband isn't into outdoor adventure travel, and I called a number of places before finding Jason. The Women in the Wilderness trip that Jason has put together is perfect for women who want an adventure but may be uncertain... More

Having not been to Ely and BWCA in about 20yrs I was excited about sharing the Northwoods experience with my wife and two sons (8 and 11y.o.). It was a tough, challenging, and sometimes arduous 5day/4night escape from modern day hustle and bustle, but well worth the trip. Jason at Boundary Waters Guide Service, and our guide for the 5... If you want a great BWCA experience, you should definite consider Boundary Waters Guide Service and Ely Outfitting Co. Based on many experiences with guides and outfitters worldwide, I give Boundary Waters Guide Service and Ely Outfitting Company two enthusiastic thumbs up. From pre-trip planning the post-trip debrief, the service was outstanding. From lake and campsite selection, to expert fishing... More

We used the Boundary Waters Guide Service to outfit us and guide us on a three day two night camp trip in the boundary waters. We have five children ages 6-16, and plus we brought along my mother-in-law -- so the needs and interests were quite diverse! To add a little extra challenge, we keep strictly kosher, so the cooking... More

My two grown sons and I had a wonderful trip. Canoe tripping in the comparative wilderness of the Boundary Waters was just as we had remembered it from the 1950's and 1980's in northern Ontario. The equipment, route selected, outfitting and guide service was excellent in all regards

As I told our guide, we are fortunate enough to have visited many well known vacation destinations throughout the U.S. and Europe. That being said, next to our honeymoon this was my favorite trip. The planning and outfitting was extraordinary. We ate like kings -- multi-course meals every night! Not a single detail was overlooked, which is probably why we... More

We have been to the BWCA many times, but didn't have time to organize a trip this year. We used Jason as an outfitter. We had perfect equipment for the trip and great food! Jason made every part of planning easy and fun, he even accommodated my food allergies. We highly recommend using this outfitter.

After reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, I contacted Jason, the owner of the service and booked a two night, three day guided trip for myself, a friend and my two kids ages 8 and 11. My kids have never been camping before, so I was a little worried that they would not have a good time in the wilderness. Jason... More
