This place was interesting, our presenter was new but still did a passable job, it was not hard-sell to solicit funds, and the wolves finally came out. Not sure it was worth the drive or the price, but all in all, I'm glad I went.

The International Wolf Center is obviously filled with all types of wolf information, i.e. types, biology, behavior, etc. If you want to learn about wolves and/or see a wolf - this is the place to visit. The International Wolf Center also maintains a live wolf exhibit both in person and online.

We had seen and heard a wide range of evaluations of the Wolf Center and I understand the range better after our visit. We arrived on a Sunday morning. They had put out a fresh deer carcass the night before and one wolf kept the others away from it until the morning. As a result, we had an up close... More

Husband and I visited Ely, MN over Columbus Day weekend, 1999. We flew into St Paul, rented a car and drove North to Ely. While we didn't really enjoy the flight, we did enjoy the drive ! ;D So, we arrived in Ely on the Friday of that weekend, stopped at our Bed & Breakfast first, to get situated and... More

We went to the Wolf Center after our visit to the bear centre. We did expect it more to be like the bear centre which had loads of educational displays.

It sells stuff. It has big windows to,maybe, see 4 inert wolves, a few staff, who are bored giving boring lectures, and a tiny movie theatre with nothing interesting to see. It's a huge waste of money and time.

Drove 4 hours to visit the center and spend the night in Ely to see the rest of the area. Arrived at the center, looked out their window viewing area--no wolves visible. Was told by staff that sometimes you might see them and sometimes you won't. I thought at least cameras would be positioned in the enclosure so they could... More

I had high hopes for the Wolf Center as I was traveling with someone who would be happy if wolves were extinct. I was hoping that after looking at the exhibits and attending a presentation that he would have a better understanding of wolves and see their importance in the wild. Unfortunately, we did not see anything in the exhibit... More

My husband, mother in law and I recently stayed overnight at the Wolf Center for a Wolf Watch program. What an amazing opportunity! We learned a lot about the ambassador pack and wolves in general while waiting for evening and the wolves to come out as the heat of the day drained away. The staff are all very knowledgeable and...
