Take Minnesota Avenue to it's end point where the small airport property starts. Park and head to a break in the fence that protects the property. It will be marked with a notice about entering a natural area. Much of the two mile or so hike goes through old growth forest. There are some sandy open areas - particularly as... More

If you want to dip your toes in chilly Lake Superior, this is the place to do it! The boardwalk approach to the sandy/pebbly beach looks like eastern shore beaches, but with small pine trees instead of tall grasses. A great place to visit on a sunny day.

Nice beach, sand, rocks, drift wood. But people do not take out what they bring in (garbage), what a shame on those involved. Wife walked into the water, nice temps but she had to watch where she placed her feet. Lots of other people walking around taking pictures, playing in the water (more kids) but they seemed to be enjoying... More

What more can you want then long sand beaches and endless lake. Found agates, admired driftwood, went wading. Disliked the amount of trash on the beach-not sure why people cannot keep the beach beautiful.

This area is a must for me when I travel to Duluth. It is full of decent restaurants, shops and fun activities. We watched a boat come in to port, ate at Grandma's, toured the William Irvin, watched the two lift bridges, took the kids to Adventure Zone, the toy and candy shops in the DeWitt (?) building, and took... Park Point is a great spot to spend a summer day. Lake Superior is pretty cold to swim in, but on a nice sun filled summer day of sitting in the lounge chair, walking in the water feels so good. It was just my wife and I on this trip, but we saw plenty of kiddos having a great time... More

We discovered this little gem of a beach on our own. We were mesmerized by its beauty and plan to go back one day. How do you get there? Take a drive over the lift bridge on Lake Avenue, continue a couple of miles until you run into the airport. Park your car at the airport and look for the... More

Duluth is an awesome city, and I like the touristy things just like all our visitors do. But do yourself a favor and drive all the way out to the end of this giant sandbar, get out of the car, leave your cell phone in it, and go for a walk. The trail to the end of Minnesota Point travels... More

On a sunny day, Park Point is a wonderful place to be! Parking can be competitive, but it's worth a walk if you are in a further space. Alone, with friends, with family or the dog... people from all walks of life head to the beach to relax or have fun.

Once you pass over the lift bridge traveling away from Grandma's restaurant, follow the road until the end where there's a small airport near that, there is a dirt path leading to a beach area overlooking lake Superior!! Great fun for all ages yea there might be garbage like other reviews said but when I was there not even a... More
