We drove out to Park Point since we were staying at the Park Point Marina Inn. We wanted to see what it was. This is a huge park with things the kids can play on and explore. There is probably more here, we just drove through and out again.

One of the favorite stops on our vacation are the beaches at Park Point. While I think the water is cold, the kids always love it. They love digging in the sand and finding cool rocks!

Park Point has a great view of Lake Superior and Duluth (my picture was taken there). It also has numerous benches, outdoor grills & tables on the bayside, with lovely pine trees, views of the harbor, and ball fields if you're looking for a game. Great for picnics, walks, beach activities and swimming (on warm days), or just reading under... More

What a fun surprise- drive over the lift bridge and keep going- and you can't miss this beautiful spot. This beach looks like the Atlantic sea shore - but the waves aren't as big and the water is colder! We always stop here for a walk and some pictures when we are in town.

What a lovely park. Great area for picnics, volleyball, and a stroll on the beach. There is a restaurant on the beach. The day my friend and I visited we stumbled upon a wedding on the beach, just off the back side of the restaurant. Fun! Caution: the sand is full of twigs. I walked barefoot in the sand and... More

Beautiful sandy beach, but the water is ice cold, even in the summer! Kids enjoy it anyway. Wish there was a permanent bathroom facility with a shower to rinse of the sand. (Summer they have a portapotty) Bring a shade umbrella and towels. Make sure you know how the water is behaving, they do have rip currents at times. As... More

Take Minnesota Avenue to it's end point where the small airport property starts. Park and head to a break in the fence that protects the property. It will be marked with a notice about entering a natural area. Much of the two mile or so hike goes through old growth forest. There are some sandy open areas - particularly as... More

If you want to dip your toes in chilly Lake Superior, this is the place to do it! The boardwalk approach to the sandy/pebbly beach looks like eastern shore beaches, but with small pine trees instead of tall grasses. A great place to visit on a sunny day.

Nice beach, sand, rocks, drift wood. But people do not take out what they bring in (garbage), what a shame on those involved. Wife walked into the water, nice temps but she had to watch where she placed her feet. Lots of other people walking around taking pictures, playing in the water (more kids) but they seemed to be enjoying... More
