Owner description: Built between 1905-1908 to resemble a 17th-century country estate, Duluth's 39-room "American Castle" retains the majority of its original furnishings and art and, amazingly, closely resembles the way it looked when its owners, the Congdon family, first occupied it in 1908. Situated on a wooded lot, the mansion boasts spectacular views of Lake Superior.

This casino is notorious for attracting the worst kinds in the area. Our visit proved that it was VERY smoky environment with very few options for entertainment. No restaurant. You'd be better off spending your money at any of the nearby pubs and restaurants, including Blackwater, Tycoons or Coney Island.

A very scary place. Lots of shady people walking around and it was very dirty. I would not go back. I didn't stay long at all.

They had a lot of the current games that I like...their staff is super friendly and helpful. We didn't win but we didn't lose it all either, the machines kept us playing just long enough. Points rack up pretty fast, I went home with a promotional gift. We had fun!

Walked in with 250 bucks and 30 minutes walked out with nothing. Played 4 different machines and never hit a bonus. An older lady told me that ever since the casino kicked the city of Duluth out of the partnership they had had for years that the casino has gone downhill. She said that the casino changed all the EPROM... More

With the reviews showing this was the dirtiest, smokiest casino in the land I was ready with hand sanitizer, and almost bought a gas mask. You do have to pay to park in the attached parking ramp, but it is located right downtown so I think that's pretty typical. As we walked toward the casino you could smell smoke coming... More

It's worth the drive to Hinckly to actually WIN. You won't do it at Fonduluth. I have played the slots at FDL for years and years,,,,NEVER won a JACKPOT but see the the same ones win over and over. I think they are related to security and supervisors at FDL. Personally saw a supervisor walk in and win substantially 'off... More

I won 100 dollars but had to throw my clothes out because I couldn't get the smoke funk out of them, so I guess even..? If you are a cigarette or cigar you'll feel at home in this ashtray.

A casino - but not much more. The smoke smell is heavy. Not a great choice of slots. Two floors. Played but didn't win anything. You have to pay for your parking and it's not reimbursed. If you are dying to play slots, it will work but if you are killing time, do it elsewhere. Staff was friendly - only... More

They have so-so in machines, you have to stay in the parking ramp next to the casino they do not pay -- you pay for parking. This is a very small operation with the 2 floors of machines. They are growing but very slow.

When I open the door the smell was terrible very old looking. Turned around and walked out. Would not waste my time at this place.
