Follow the north shore of Lake Superior on this drive..enough places to stop and enjoy the scenery..lots of state parks to go hiking in along the way and enough restaurants along the way to stop and enjoy a meal at..beautiful places to stop and enjoy watching all the rivers that flow into Lake Superior...rugged beauty along this drive

View, quaint shops, nature beauty, not too busy or commercial. Beautiful drive along Lake Superior as it sparkles in the sun. Nice places to stay on the lake.

The North Shore is a scenic and peaceful drive along the southwestern shore of Lake Superior. Duluth is a great town with lots of things to do, and then the North Shore starts when you get on Highway 61. There aren't a lot of towns along the shore, but Two Harbors has a nice little lighthouse and Grand Marais is... More

A lot of the "scenic" is hidden by private property. It is such a shame that Minnesota sold it's lake shoreline and did not save it for the public. This was disappointing to someone who was visiting for the first time.

Disappointed that there was a charge to see Split Rock Lighthouse, but the scenery was just gorgeous!

It was a beautiful and peaceful drive with the pines and the wild flowers. We sat and enjoyed the waves on the rocks while our hair blew in the wind.

I love this area a lot. It is picturesque and splendid for me. I really enjoyed sightseeing, walking along the lake and taking many photos. I like the house light most. It is very outstanding and has pretty color. Spending time here is never boring for me. Feel free with fresh air and feel cool from the crystal clear water... More

Done this one many times and never been disappointed! North or Duluth (which is worth a day itself) are numerous state parks each with amazing features and hikes Especially interesting is Cascades and the Light House. Judge Magney is cool for a long hike deep in the north woods. Nanibijou Lodge is across the street and is a wonderful destination... More

We took the time to head up the North Shore from Duluth to Grand Marais for a day trip and could not have been happier. The scenery, the parks that you pass along the lake, Split Harbor Light House, and lots of other surprises along the way lift this up as a great place to take the family. Great eating... More

We have been coming to stay at the Holiday Inn for the last 35 years and enjoying every minute of our stays and swimming on both 4th and 8th floor. All the wonderful staff that make it a joy to stay at our hotel! A very excellent place to stay and shop in Canal Park. All the little shops are... More
