Always a beautiful drive, no matter what season. Many small places to stop and explore, along with one of the best restaurants in the area (New Scenic Cafe).

The North Shore drive from Duluth to Canada is breathtaking, with rugged cliffs and the ever changing beauty of Lake Superior. There are many beautiful rivers to stop at along the way to enjoy a picnic or hike on the many trails along the rivers. Also there is the Superior Hiking trail on the upper side of the highway, which... More

The Northshore is beautiful and runs right next to the shore of Lake Superior. Lots of great places to stop to eat or bring a picnic lunch. People walking, running and riding bike all over. I love this part of Minnesota.

I have made the trip from Duluth to Thunder Bay many times. It has a uniqueness unparraled in the lower 48. Cool in the summer so bring a warm jacket. Camping and fishing are great. Se the splitrock lighthouse and the many waterfalls.

I'm not sure what there would ever be to complain about on this drive. The name explains it, don't expect to speed here and it's really not the best road for passing either. You are driving it for the view and the many cool local stops for shopping, eating, sleeping, and hiking along the way! Enjoy!

Even though there were no ships or other boats out on the lake in January I would still recommend this drive for anyone visiting Duluth. The ice breaking up on the rocky shore provides for an experience and sight not often seen.

We always enjoyed the scenic views on the shore line any time of the year. Plenty of places to shop and eat when in the area. Lots of walking and biking area. Definitely worth the drive any time of the year.

This is the most beautiful area in all Minnesota by a long shot!! You can see so many waterfalls, big ones, little ones, some well known, some not named, some right at or near Lake Superior, others require pretty big hikes. There's amazing bird life up here! Everything from bald eagles to hawks, harriers, osprey and a list of other... More

If you love the outdoors, you will love the Scenic Drive up the North Shore. Its very accessible and there are many rest points to catch a breathtaking view of the water. The route travels though many of the main attractions going north. Hitting Two Harbors (Make sure to stop for a piece of Betty's Pie!!) which will lead to... More
