Annually ranked as one of the most scenic U.S. drives, and for good reason. The drive up the North Shore has one beautiful vista after another, with Lake Superior on one side, beautiful cliffs and all, and a beautiful pine and birch forest on the other. There are numerous scenic towns and restaurants all up the shore, as well as... More

Its a beautiful drive. As as long as your not in a hurry. Took it the first time I went on vacation to Duluth and wanted to head further north. Take out our camera and enjoy the views. Make stops when you want. Well worth the trip.

The coastal drive is very scenic and the circle tour of all of lake superior is a great trip. The entire North Coast between Duluth and Thunder Bay, Canada is great traveling for rock-hounds. Lots of good gem and rock collecting sites along the way. One stop in particular was a great find - The Beaver Bay Agate Shop in... More

This is a beautiful drive and many photos can be shot from the car or "pull over" spots. Morning, day or evening you won't be disappointed! Dove up and down a few times and still found new photo shots!

Enjoy the drive, take time to stop at the rest stops and visit the parks. Gooseberry Falls state park, Split Rock lighthouse and more. Fall colors are gorgeous. Kids love to splash around the waterfalls at Gooseberry!

One beautiful scene after another. .Traffic on Sunday was bit of a nuisance. Goes through Two Harbors, past Gooseberry Fall State Park and Split Rock LIghthouse State Park. Several good restaurants and much shopping. THere is biking and hiking and swimming.

The views are breathtaking along the shore. make sure you give yourself ample time to stop at all the wayside stops. The short hikes off the road are amazing and have easy acces to the trail system.

Beautiful drive down the north shore, wish I could have driven to Canada too but went south to Duluth. Stopped at a state park & hiked about 3 miles thru the path, woods, along a waterful & down to the edge of Lake Superior. So nice. Stopped at Slitrock Lighthouse...very pretty! Ate at The Rustic Cafe along the way known... More

Beautiful scenery. Magnificent in the fall of the year. Lake Superior is almost 400 miles long and 200 miles across.
