I was apprehensive about riding the train after reading some of the reviews, but my handicapped daughter has a fascination with trains, so decided to do it anyway. We took the pizza and music ride. The first car we sat in was full of 5 year olds at a birthday party blowing horns. The car was also too warm. We... More

Did the shorter Lester River turn, very pleasant ride, nice views of the harbor, Lake Superior, and a different view of Duluth. Heard from others that the longer Two Harbors trip was great also. A must for railfans. Take time to check out the Museum at the Depot also!

The North shore train ride gives you some pretty good views of Lake superior and the city of Duluth. It has many different styles of rail cars from air-conditioned cars, double decker cars to cars with old-fashioned wooden windows. The ride itself takes about 45 minutes each way,is narrated and is very reasonably priced. It also has a museum of trains... More

My daughter is two and Thomas the Train is the center of her world right now. I and my wife decided that the ninety minute Lester river ride might be a perfect first real train experience for her. We booked the ride online the day prior during our trip to Duluth. Unfortunately our daughter fell ill the evening before the... More

The trains are clean and comfortable. The views are a mixed bag of lake superior, trees, downtown duluth, lester prairie, back yards, highways, etc. If you've never been on a train ride and just want a nice experience this will do the trick. Once you get to two harbors there are restaurants in walking distance as well as multiple free... More

The trip was ok. I wish we had sat in the last car our car was warm and stuffy. We enjoyed the car where we could get snacks but it was just a box car with coolers and a bar, you could stand and look out and get some fresh air at least. The hour and a half ride was... More

We took our 2 year old on the Lester River tour. He was pretty amped up to ride the train but it was pretty slow going for a 2 year old. I enjoyed the scenery and the history given by the narrator but he fell asleep while we were stopped for approximately 20 minutes changing tracks.

we took the whole family including grandkids to ride on the pizza train. the restrooms left ALOT to be desired inside of the depot and the train cars. One lady was afraid to use because she thought it would overflow. The young girls of the crew were very accommodating and were a pleasure to talk to. The ride lasted longer... More

We did the extravagant dinner ride, which was fun but it was pretty expensive. I will cherish the memory but probably do the pizza ride next time

I took my 3 year old to see Thomas one of his favorite characters. After paying $19 per seat for 3 of us plus service fee the ride was horrible. We went to board the train and were turned away from one car, boarded another only to be told we needed to go back to the first car because the... More
