Every trip to Duluth in the summer brings us to the trains. Our family loves the museum, and we all enjoy taking the train. We really adore waving out the baggage car doors at the people on the Lake walk.

Parking the 1st time or two can be a bit messy here... but we've got the hang of it now. Desk staff friendly and helpful, everything runs well, organized. Signs, plentiful staff, etc. Depot area is great, events (thomas, pumpkin train, etc) are worth the money we look forward to boarding the train again soon!
I've been on this train twice, and it's quite a treat, especially for rail fans! The engine is beautifully restored in the striking Duluth Missabe maroon and yellow paint scheme, You travel in a wide variety of coaches - every one is different! It's like riding in the early Amtrak "rainbow consist" of cars! A favourite one to ride in...

My family rolled into the gorgeous town of Duluth last August on our summer road trip, and we were all really excited about our Lester River train tour with North Shore Scenic Railroad, which we had booked well in advance. As it turns out, it was a sub-par experience and the worst thing we did during out stay in Duluth....

Took the ride up the shore with my girlfriend. It was kind of expensive, depending where you were able to sit you are only able to see just a little bit, maybe not much at all. The train drives straight up, then goes backwards to where it started. So you see the things on the side of the train your...

I booked a reservation for my sister and her husband from out of town for the "beer train." We are over 50. I live in Duluth. I thought it would be fun, with music and snacks. It took ages for us to get moving, there was not one announcement, the whole train was a filthy mess and imagine only two...

Took the kids and it was the perfect amount of time and interest for a 5 and 2 year old!! Would go again and possibly take a different tour as they get older.
It was Fantastic to ride a Steam Engine between Duluth & Two Harbors in MN. View along the ride was breath taking. Staff on board were extremely professional and friendly. One member told us many jokes at various points which kept us all laughing. Also rode the Elegant Dinner Train and the food was Excellent!!
It was a fun ride! My kids loved it. We were on the outside car which was fun and a bit loud, but neat to hear the train noises. The tracks went right along Lake Superior it had beautiful views of the lake.
Recently I had the chance to ride the North Shore Scenic Railroad's Mystery train. The venue was wonderful, the food terrific and the play very funny. I've ridden the Two Harbors and the Pizza train. Both were great fun and wonderful for kids. The Mystery train is great for an adult trip
