The Maritime Museum in Duluth is a great place to take the kids and learn about shipping on the great lakes. There is a pilot house for the kids to pretend to steer a large ship, with all the attachments. There are interactive exhibits where the kids can hear and see what it was like to be a passenger or... more

This was right by our campground at Indian Point. An ex DMIR Pullman coach and a flatcar converted to outdoor seating with a fence and rails pulled by a small switcher. On this particular saturday they let my wife and I take our two Siberian Husky dogs on flatcar, it may be dog friendly. Before departure they took my nephew... more
