The maritime museum at Canal Park is a MUST VISIT place when you're in Duluth. Leave yourself plenty of time to explore this MN treasure. Here you will find an amazing amount of history & information about the lake, shipping & commerce, and, sadly, many, many shipwrecks over the years. We've been to the museum many times - it is... I'm not much for tourist places, so that's why the rating is only 3/average. However, Duluth has made this area VERY ATTRACTIVE with fountains, restaurants, shops (art galleries, clothing, gifts, etc.), museums, and walks. You can walk for miles along the shoreline, or to the aquarium, children's park, or out to the beaches on Park Point. All that and more... More

When you visit Duluth, no doubt you will visit Canal Park. A large collection of hotels, restaurants, and shops await the visitor here, all within easy walking distance. And all on the shores of the world's largest freshwater lake. This is THE place to come for evening summertime strolls, and to grab an ice-cream cone. Lots of dining opportunities, and... More

No better place to visit in Duluth! Can be very busy on a beautiful weekend in Duluth so if you can play hooky during the day do so because there is something for everyone here!

Canal Park has something for everyone of all ages. If it's shopping you're after, there are many stores with a variety of offerings. Art, antiques, t-shirts, outdoor gear, you name it. Also, indoor fun for kids if the weather changes. Many restaurants from Italian to Mexican and everything in between.

We were in Florida visiting for spring break. We hadn't been to a park in MONTHS. We thought our 3 year old would enjoy a visit to the park and boy did she have fun! The playground is underneath some very large trees which provide some awesome shade! The ground is covered in a very soft artificial grass. I won't... More

You can make a great weekend out of Canal Park and heading up the North Shore - lots of great shopping, restaurants, and sight seeing. Would highly recommend as a weekend get away.

Canal Park is the start of a spit of land going out into Lake Superior for several miles. The Canal Park is that which is on the Duluth city side of the lift bridge--full of eateries, shops, and hotels. If you are a newcomer then look for signs for Lake Avenue--a bit confusing when getting off the freeway. Once there... More

It can get a bit crowded in canal park but we enjoyed our walk around the shops. Sometimes parking can be hard to come by but once you park you don't have to move your car and can cover a lot of ground in a short time.
